Vereniki Goneva
Vereniki Goneva (born 5 April 1984) is a Fijian rugby union footballer who plays for Mont-de-Marsan in France's Pro D2, the second division. He plays as a centre or wing. Goneva made his debut in English rugby for Rotherham against Northampton Saints in the RFU Championship in the 2007–2008 season. He played for Leicester Tigers from 2012 to 2016, where he won the Aviva Premiership title, before signing with Newcastle Falcons. He has been Premiership Rugby's top try scorer during two seasons. Career Goneva was first spotted by the Fiji sevens coach, Waisale Serevi playing as a wing for Nadi in the Digicel Cup competition and he was impressed by his workrate and included him in the 2007-08 IRB Sevens World Series and he made his debut in the 2nd leg, George Sevens where Fiji lost in the cup final to New Zealand. Lautoka
Lautoka () is the second largest Local government in Fiji, city in Fiji. It is on the west coast of the island of Viti Levu, in the Ba Province of the Western Division, Fiji, Western Division. Waisale Serevi
Waisale Tikoisolomoni Serevi (born 20 May 1968) is a Fijian former rugby union football player and coach, and is a member of the World Rugby Hall of Fame. Serevi is renowned for his achievements in rugby sevens, while also enjoying a long career in fifteen-a-side rugby at both club and national team levels. Nicknamed "The Wizard" by commentators, he is widely considered to be the greatest rugby sevens player in the history of the game. A biography of Serevi titled ''Waisale Serevi: King of Sevens'' by Nick Darvenzi was published in 2018. In the 15-man game, he played for Fiji 39 times between 1989 and 2003, and scored 376 points. This included representing Fiji in the 1991, 1999, and 2003 Rugby World Cups. He also played professionally for the Mitsubishi, Leicester, Stade Montois, Stade Bordelais and Staines rugby teams. 2009 USA Sevens
The 2009 USA Sevens competition took place on February 14 and 15 at Petco Park in San Diego, California. It was the fourth Cup trophy in the 2008-09 IRB Sevens World Series. The USA Sevens is played annually as part of the IRB Sevens World Series for international rugby sevens. Argentina won the 2009 USA Sevens, defeating England 19–14 in the cup final. This was the last edition of the USA Sevens to be held in San Diego. Starting with the 2010 edition, the event was moved to Sam Boyd Stadium near Las Vegas. 2007 Pacific Rugby Cup
The 2007 Pacific Rugby Cup was the second edition of the Pacific Rugby Cup competition and featured 6 representative rugby union football teams; 2 from each of the three Pacific rugby unions – Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. It was played from 31 March to 5 May. In the grand final match, Upolu Samoa was victorious on Tongan soil, beating the Tau'uta Reds in the decider by 20 points (35 to 15). Teams and format The six teams that were created for the inaugural 2006 competition returned to compete in 2007. Fiji Barbarians
The Fiji Barbarians is a Fijian former rugby union representative team that played in the Pacific Rugby Cup from 2006 to 2010. The other Fijian team in the Cup was the Fiji Warriors. The players were drawn from the Fijian domestic competitions. The Fiji Barbarians team qualified for the 2010 Pacific Cup final but lost the match to countrymen the Fiji Warriors by 17–26 at the National Stadium in Suva. The Coastal Stallions is a former Fijian rugby union team. The Coastal Stallions is a Fijian former rugby union team that had a franchise area coverering Nadroga-Navosa, Namosi, Serua and Malolo. The Western Crusaders is a Fijian former rugby union team that had a franchise area coverering Lautoka, Nadi, and Yasawa. The team played in the Colonial Cup from 2004 to 2008 before the competition ceased in 2008. History The franchise was one of four original teams created for the inaugural Colonial Cup in 2004. The New Zealand national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens, Summer Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. They have won a record twelve World Rugby Sevens Series titles. The team has been officially known as the All Blacks Sevens since 1 June 2012. The South Africa Sevens is played annually as part of the IRB Sevens World Series for international rugby sevens (seven-a-side version of rugby union). The 2007 competition, which took place on 7 December and 8 December at Outeniqua Park in George, Western Cape, was the second Cup trophy in the 2007–08 IRB Sevens World Series. In a rematch of the Cup final from the first event in the 2007–08 series, the Dubai Sevens, New Zealand successfully defended their South Africa title by defeating Fiji. The second-level Plate final matched two surprise finalists, with Kenya narrowly defeating a USA team boosted by the presence of emerging 15s star Takudzwa Ngwenya.
