Fiji Barbarians
The Fiji Barbarians is a Fijian former rugby union representative team that played in the Pacific Rugby Cup from 2006 to 2010. The other Fijian team in the Cup was the Fiji Warriors. The players were drawn from the Fijian domestic competitions. The Fiji Barbarians team qualified for the 2010 Pacific Cup final but lost the match to countrymen the Fiji Warriors by 17–26 at the National Stadium in Suva. Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. The 2006 Pacific Rugby Cup was the inaugural season of the Pacific Rugby Cup. It featured 6 representative rugby union football teams; 2 from each of the three Pacific rugby unions - Fiji, Samoa , and Tonga. Savaii Samoa won the title, defeating Fiji Warriors by 10 points to 5 in the grand final. Barbarian F
A barbarian (or savage) is someone who is perceived to be either uncivilized or primitive. South African Barbarians
South African Barbarians is an invitational rugby union club styled along the lines of Barbarian F.C. It was formed in 1960 by Frank Mellish, the former 1951–52 Springbok selector and manager, together with former Natal Rugby Union President, Harry Stacey. The club is directly affiliated to the South African Rugby Union. Club colours and emblem The club's colours are a light and dark blue quartered jersey with white shorts. Players may wear socks of their choice (usually preferring their own club socks). The blazer badge is similar to that used by the Barbarians in 1929, although playing jerseys simply have a leaping lamb on the left chest. The New Zealand Barbarians, nicknamed the "Baa-Baas", are an invitational rugby union team. They have been a part of New Zealand rugby since the team was founded in 1937 by two ex-All Blacks, Ronald Bush and Hubert McLean, who captained their first game (against Auckland) in 1938. French Barbarians
The Barbarian Rugby Club, more commonly known as the French Barbarians, is a rugby union team formed in 1979 and based in France. It was founded as an amateur invitational team modeled on the Barbarian F.C. From the start of the 2017–18 season, the French Barbarians became the official second national team of the French Rugby Federation, which had previously designated either the France U20 side or France A as that team. The French Barbarians play in sky, navy and royal blue hooped jerseys. As with the original Barbarians, players retain the socks from their "home" club strip. Brussels Barbarians
The Brussels Barbarians Rugby Football Club (also known as the Babas) are a rugby union club in Belgium, formed in 1968, one of two expatriate rugby clubs in Belgium. The club consists of two men's teams, which play matches every Sunday afternoon between September and May in the Flander's Regional 1st Division. Matches are played throughout Belgium. The Brussels Barbarians' home ground, named the Elephant Pitch, is in Tervuren, a suburb of Brussels. The club is a partner club of Saracens. The Australian Barbarians, nicknamed the "Baa-Baas", is an invitational rugby union team which has been a major part of Australian rugby since the team was founded in 1957. 2007 Pacific Rugby Cup
The 2007 Pacific Rugby Cup was the second edition of the Pacific Rugby Cup competition and featured 6 representative rugby union football teams; 2 from each of the three Pacific rugby unions – Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. It was played from 31 March to 5 May. In the grand final match, Upolu Samoa was victorious on Tongan soil, beating the Tau'uta Reds in the decider by 20 points (35 to 15). Pacific Rugby Cup
The World Rugby Pacific Challenge, formerly the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup, is an annual rugby union football tournament held in Oceania since 2006. It is contested by national 'A' teams (formed from the best locally based players, with most not already on their nations' senior rugby team) from the Asia-Pacific region. The tournament is run by World Rugby (previously IRB) through Oceania Rugby. The original IRB Pacific Rugby Cup featured two teams from each of the three Pacific Island countries of Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.
