Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the sixth tier of the German football league system and the highest league in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fifth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fourth tier. Overview The ''Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern'' was established in 1991 from sixteen clubs as a highest league for the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Football Association, LFVMV (German: ''Landesfußballverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern''). It comprised the area of the three Bezirksligen of Rostock, Neubrandenburg and Schwerin. The Brandenburg-Liga (VI) (''formerly the Verbandsliga Brandenburg'') is the highest league for football teams exclusively in the German state of Brandenburg and at step six of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fifth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fourth tier. Torgelower FC Greif is a German football club from the city of Torgelow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The football team is part of a sports club which also has departments for women's sport, table tennis, and handball. The club was known as Torgelower SV Greif until 2014. History The club was established in 1919 as ''Greif Torgelow'' and after World War II resumed play in East Germany as ''BSG Motor Torgelow'' in the third-tier Berzirksliga Neubrandenburg. FC Mecklenburg Schwerin is a German football club based in Schwerin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The club was formed from a merger in 2013 and competes in the fifth tier NOFV-Oberliga Nord. FSV Bentwisch is a German association football club from the district of Bad Doberan in Bentwisch, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. __TOC__ History The club was established 21 December 1966 as a football-only organization and has since grown to include departments for aerobics, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, walking, pre-school sport and women's sport. A championship in the Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (V) in 2008 advanced the football side to the NOFV-Oberliga Nord (V) for the 2008–09 season. Greifswalder SV
Greifswalder SV 04 was a German association football club from the city of Greifswald, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The club was formed out of the merger of ''SSV Grün-Schwarz Greifswald'', ''ESV/Empor Greifswald'', and ''Greifswalder SV 98''. In addition to its football side the club had departments for athletics, badminton, basketball, dance and rhythmic gymnastics. The merger of the three clubs made ''SV'' the second-largest club in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with some 1400 members. The club had a strong focus on youth football and had links to a number of area schools. FC Anker Wismar is a German association football club based in Wismar, Germany, currently playing in the Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. History The club's origins date back to 1904 when ''FC Elite Wismar'' were established. The following year, the club was renamed to ''Wismarer FC 1905''. FC Schönberg is a German association football club from the city of Schönberg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. History The club has its origins in ''TSG Schönberg'' which was created as ''SG Schönberg'' in 1945 at the end of World War II and later played as ''BSG Traktor Schönberg''. COVID-19 Pandemic In Germany
The COVID-19 pandemic in Germany has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. On 27 January 2020, the first case in Germany was confirmed near Munich, Bavaria. By mid February, the arising cluster of cases had been fully contained. On 25 and 26 February, multiple cases related to the Italian outbreak were detected in Baden-Württemberg. A carnival event on 15 February in Heinsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, was attended by a man identified as positive on 25 February; in the outbreak which subsequently developed from infected participants, authorities were mostly no longer able to trace the likely chains of infections.
