FSV Bentwisch is a German association football club from the district of Bad Doberan in Bentwisch, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. __TOC__ History The club was established 21 December 1966 as a football-only organization and has since grown to include departments for aerobics, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, walking, pre-school sport and women's sport. A championship in the Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (V) in 2008 advanced the football side to the NOFV-Oberliga Nord (V) for the 2008–09 season. The A and B youth sides also claimed titles in 2007–08 at the national level. In 2009 the side voluntary withdrew to Landesliga Nord (VII) where it won the title in 2012, thus promoting them back to the now sixth level Verbandsliga. The club withdrew its team from the Verbandsliga during the 2014–15 season after it lost 17 players during the winter break and was unable to field a Verbandsliga team and now plays in the tier eight Landesklasse. Bentwisch
Bentwisch is a municipality in the Rostock district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, to the east of Rostock. Since its merger with Klein Kussewitz in January 2018, the municipality has 3,174 inhabitants and covers 29.19 square kilometres. Due to its proximity to Rostock, the B 105, and the A 19, Bentwisch became a place of industry after German reunification. Bentwisch has a substation for 220 kV/110kV and the static inverter plant of the HVDC Kontek. Both facilities are a few kilometres away from each other. The NOFV-Oberliga Nord is the fifth tier of the German football league system in the northern states of the former East Germany and West Berlin. It covers the German states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and northern Saxony-Anhalt. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football. Until the introduction of the 3. The Landesliga ( en, Football State League) is a tier of football in some states of the German football league system. In Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia, Bremen, Lower Saxony and Hamburg, the Landesligas are set right below the Oberliga and therefore are the sixth tier. The reason for this is that Bavaria, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, and Bremen are the only places in Germany where the Oberliga, the State, and the Verband are geographically the same, while the other two states simply chose to call their leagues ''Landesligas'' when establishing them in 1990.
