Venedig Im Regen
Austria competed at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, held in Rome, Italy. The Austrian entry was Thomas Forstner with the song "Venedig im Regen", composed by Robby Musenbichler, Hubert Moser and Wolfgang Eltner. Before Eurovision National final The final was held on 16 March 1991 at the ORF studios in Vienna, hosted by Andreas Steppan and Nicole Fendesack. The winner was decided by televoting (50%) and "expert" jury (50%). At Eurovision Forstner performed 6th on the night of the contest, following Switzerland's Sandra Simó's with "Canzone per te" and preceding Luxembourg's Sarah Bray with "Un baiser volé". At the close of the voting the song had received zero points, placing last of 22. Voting Austria did not receive any points at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest. Thomas Forstner
Thomas Forstner (born December 3, 1969 in Deutsch-Wagram, Lower Austria) is a singer who has represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest twice. In 1989 he performed "Nur ein Lied" ( en, "Only A Song") in Lausanne, giving Austria the fifth place — their highest position since their last win in 1966 and until Austria's win in 2014. Anita (born Anita Spanner, 22 December 1960 in Fürstenfeld District, Styria) is an Austrian singer, best known for her participation in the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest. Anton Hans Sarközi as Tony Wegas (born 3 May 1965 in Oberschützen) is an Austrian singer and television actor. Biography Wegas participated in "Ein Lied für Rom", the Austrian heat of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1991 with the song "Wunder dieser Welt". The song was placed second but Wegas was invited to represent Austria in 1992. He performed "Zusammen geh'n" in Malmö and despite being one of the favourites to win, could only manage tenth place. Austrian television decided to give him another chance in 1993 and he performed all of the songs in the national selection contest, "Veni Vidi Wegas".
