Velykyi Liubin
Velykyi Liubin ( uk, Вели́кий Лю́бінь; pl, Lubień Wielki) is an urban-type settlement in Lviv Raion, Lviv Oblast, western Ukraine. The settlement has a balneological and cardiological resort and sanatorium. It hosts the administration of Velykyi Liubin settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Local government is administered by Velykoliubinska town council. Population: Geography The settlement Velykyi Liubin is located along the Highway Ukraine () – Lviv – Sambir – Uzhhorod. Distance from the regional center Lviv is the , from the district center Horodok and from Uzhhorod. History Today this is an urban-type settlement. Sanatorium (resort)
In Russia, Ukraine, and other former Soviet Union republics, the term sanatorium is generally used for a combination resort/recreational facility and a medical facility to provide short-term complex rest and medical services. It is similar to spa resorts but with medical services. On the other hand, for most Slavs, including Russians, Ukrainians, Czechs, and other ethnic groups, sanatorium mostly means a kind of hotel with health resort facilities and various available services (such as massage, pools, saunas, aromatherapy, oxygen therapy, etc.) not covered by medical insurance. Horodok Raion ( uk, Городоцький район) was a raion in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was the city of Horodok. The area of the district is 727 km. It bordered with Yavoriv, Pustomyty, Mykolaiv, Drohobych, Sambir, and Mostyska raions. __NOTOC__ Horodok ( uk, Городо́к, pl, Gródek) is a city in Lviv Raion, Lviv Oblast (region) of Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Horodok urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: . History Horodok was first mentioned by Nestor the Chronicler in the ''Primary Chronicle''. The ''Galician–Volhynian Chronicle'' mentions that the King Daniel of Galicia came to Horodok with his forces to join Mstislav Mstislavich the Bold while they fought with Polish-Hungarians over the Galician land. In the mid-14th century, together with whole Kingdom of Rus, the settlement was annexed by the Kingdom of Poland. Its name was changed to Gródek, and it remained in Poland for the next 400 years. A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality.
