Vello Vinn (born 4 October 1939) is an Estonian Printmaking, printmaker. Life and work Vello Vinn was born in Sõrve Peninsula, Sõrve, Saaremaa on 4 October 1939. He studied English philology at the University of Tartu in 1959 to 1962, and art in the Estonian Academy of Arts from 1963 to 1968 where he graduated in the field of glass art. In 1968 he promptly ditched glass for print. His specialty became etching and drypoint. In the nineties he participated in the Estonian 'PARA'-Surrealist movement (Eller 1996; Kaevats 1998; Helme and Kangilaski 1999). The works of Vello Vinn form a noteworthy example of the oeuvre of an Estonian printmaker from the late 1960s and early 1970s, and they boast a holistic and emphatically unique image system. Vello Viisimaa (1 January 1928 – 14 February 1991) was an Estonian opera singer and stage actor who appeared mostly in operettas. Biography Career Vello Viisimaa was born in Tallinn, Estonia, the son of opera singer Aarne Viisimaa and Hilda Marie Viisimaa (''née'' Hansen). He had one older brother, Uno Viisimaa. Vello Orumets (28 June 1941 Viljandi – 26 May 2012 Tartu) was an Estonian singer. In 1960 he graduated from Estonian SSR State Philharmonic's stage studio. From In 1959–1962 he studied music pedagogy at the Tallinn Pedagogical Institute. Vello (Ergav-Vello) Asi (October 18, 1927 – November 20, 2016) was an Estonian interior architect, graphic designer and professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts. Together with Väino Tamm, he has been one of the most important interior architects and representer of modernist interiors in Estonia since the late 1950s. Vello Salo
Vello Salo (until 1945 Endel Vaher; 5 November 1925 Võisiku Parish, Viljandi County – 21 April 2019) was an Estonian Catholic cleric, essayist, translator. He was a notable promoter of Estonian literature in exile. By confession, he was a Catholic. During WW II, he joined with Finnish Infantry Regiment 200. In 1962, he established Estonian exile publishing house Maarjamaa. Since 1998, he was a member of Estonian Writers' Union. Since 2001, he was a priest for Pirita Monastery. In 2018, the documentary film was made about Salo's life. The film was titled as "Igapäevelu müstika" ('Vello Salo: The Mystery of Everyday Life'), directed by Jaan Tootsen. Vello Helk (23 September 1923, in Varstu, Estonia – 14 March 2014) was an eminent Denmark, Danish historian of Estonians, Estonian origin. Helk was mobilized in the Germany, German army in 1944 and was forced to go to Germany. From there he fled to Denmark in 1945, where he attended the University of Århus from 1947, where he studied history, Latin and German. He concentrated on the history of Northern Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries, and his main work was about the Norway, Norwegian Jesuit Laurentius Nicolai, who tried to re-catholicize Scandinavia. He also has written an extensive survey about the Jesuits in Tartu and had studied the history of Scandinavian students in Southern European universities from 1536 to 1864.
