Vattikota AlwarSwamy
Vattikota Alwar Swamy (1 November 1915 – 5 February 1961) was a Telugu writer, human rights activist, communist leader, journalist and publisher. The first novelist in Telugu. He is an uncle of Dr. Dhasharathi Rangacharya. Early life He was born in Cheruvu Madaram Kalan (village) (shaligouraram mandal) village of Nalgonda district on 1 November 1915. His parents were Machavaram Simhadramma and Ramachandra Charyulu. As his father died when he was young, he completed his education while working as cook for his teacher Seetharama Rao. Life He was active in the library movement and the communist movement, and he fought against Nizam government. His activities angered Nizam and he was jailed. His book about his experience in Vattkota jail, ''Jailu Lopala'' (''Inside Jail''), was published. Telugu People
Telugu people ( te, తెలుగువారు, Teluguvāru), or Telugus, or Telugu vaaru, are the largest of the four major Dravidian ethnolinguistic groups in terms of population. Telugus are native to the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the Yanam district of Puducherry. A significant number of Telugus also reside in the surrounding Indian states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Odisha, as well in the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Dasaradhi Rangacharya
Dasaradhi Rangacharya (24 August 1928 – 8 June 2015), also spelled Dasarathi Rangacharya, was an Indian poet and writer in Telugu language. He participated actively in the Telangana armed struggle against the rule of the Nizams. His writings incorporated the lifestyle of the people of Telangana under the rule of the Nizams. He was conferred with Kala Ratna award in 2006. Personal life Dasaradhi Rangacharya was born on 24 August 1928 in Hyderabad State (in present-day Telangana). Upon being expelled from school, he moved to Vijayawada for further education. He was married to Kamalamma and had a son and two daughters. His brother, Dasarathi Krishnamacharya, was also a writer. Career Dasaradhi started working as a teacher during 1951 and 1957. Later he moved to Hyderabad and worked between 1957 and 1988 in the municipal corporation in Secunderabad Division. Nalgonda District
Nalgonda district is a district in the Telangana state of India. Nalgonda district has the highest number of mandals in the state with 31 mandals. The district shares boundaries with Suryapet, Rangareddy, Yadadri and Nagarkurnool districts and with the state boundary of Andhra Pradesh. The Nizams were the rulers of Hyderabad from the 18th through the 20th century. Nizam of Hyderabad (Niẓām ul-Mulk, also known as Asaf Jah) was the title of the monarch of the Hyderabad State ( divided between the state of Telangana, Marathwada region of Maharashtra and Kalyana-Karnataka region of Karnataka).
