Vallicode
Vallicode (pronounced valli-koad) is a village in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, India. It is situated at about 7 km from the district headquarters of Pathanamthitta at south-east direction. Geography The northern and southern sides of the village are protected by tall hills and a valley emerges in between the hills. The valley, decorated by tall trees and green vegetation descends to the paddy fields at the centre, which is watered by the stream originating from the hills, flowing through the heart of the village, like a life-line and reaches the Achankovil River. Vallicode-Kottayam is a village in Pathanamthitta district in the state of Kerala, India. Vallicode-Kottayam village is a part of Konni Taluk. Vallicode-Kottayam knows as V. Kottayam in short name. Nedumpara view point is the major tourist attraction at Kottappara, situated at the centre of Vallicode-Kottayam. Kaipattoor (also spelled Kaippattoor, Kaippattor and Kaippattur) is located in the western part of Pathanamthitta district. Thrikkovil Sree Padmanabha Swami Kshetram
Thrikkovil - Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple, ( ml, തൃക്കോവില് ശ്രീ പദ്മനാഭ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം) is a Hindu temple with Lord Vishnu as the presiding deity, located at Vallicode village in Pathanamthitta District in Kerala, India. The temple comes under the Travancore Devaswom Board. As per local folklore, it is considered the second one of its kind after the famous Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Pathanamthitta District (), is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. The district headquarters is in the town of Pathanamthitta. There are four municipalities in Pathanamthitta: Adoor, Pandalam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvalla. Achankovil River
Achankovil is a 128 km long west flowing river in Kerala, India, which flows through Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha districts. The river drains vast tract of fertile plains of Upper Kuttanad in the Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts. It also sustains numerous urban settlements along its course such as Konni, Pathanamthitta, Pandalam, Mavelikkara etc. Course The river has its origin in the peak '' Devar Mala'' of the Western Ghats situated in the Konni Reserve Forest. Rivers like Rishimala, Pashukidamettu and Ramakkaltheri form the major tributaries of the Achenkovil river. It flows south west from its origin and enters Kollam district near Achencovil village.
