Valletta United Water Polo Club is a Water Polo club from Valletta, Malta, and was founded in 1903. The club competes in the Maltese Waterpolo Premier League. For sponsorship reasons, the club was known as Valletta Videoslots between 2018 and 2020. The club is currently known as Valletta IZIBET, for sponsorship reasons. The Club has won 11 Water Polo Premier Divisions (1926, 1950, 1951, 1955, 1956, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1980, 1985, 1990) and 7 Premier KOs, in addition to 2 First Division (2013, 2020) and 2 First Division KOs (2013, 2020). Premises The club's premises, on Valletta's Marsamxett side, were left in ruins for a long period of time, with letters appearing in newspapers from 2010. Things seemed to have remained the same till 8 years later, when Nationalist Party Member of Parliament Claudio Grech created awareness about the state of the club's premises. Valletta (, mt, il-Belt Valletta, ) is an Local councils of Malta, administrative unit and capital city, capital of Malta. The Nationalist Party ( mt, Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Malta, along with the Labour Party. It is a Christian-democratic, and conservative political party, and it has been also described as centrist or centre-right on the political spectrum. It is supportive of Malta's membership in the European Union. It is currently in opposition to the Labour Party. Claudio Grech
Claudio Grech (born 2 August 1974) is a Maltese politician with the Nationalist Party. Biography Grech's political career began within the private secretariat of former PN Minister Austin Gatt. He was often referred to as Gatt's right-hand man, and Gatt later testified that Grech was also in charge of his campaign in the run-up to the 2008 general elections, although Grech refuted this claim. Grech was appointed CEO of SmartCity Malta in 2008; he resigned in 2009. He was later appointed Chairman of Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) and resigned in 2011 in the wake of allegations by the Labour opposition that his position granted him access to private citizens' data that was incompatible with his role within the Nationalist Party. These claims led to an investigation by the Data Protection Commissioner, which found that Grech had no access to citizens' personal information.
