Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association ( hi, उत्तर प्रदेश क्रिकेट संघ), formerly United Provinces Cricket Team, is the governing body of the Cricket activities in the Uttar Pradesh state of India and the Uttar Pradesh cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. History Vijay Anand Gajapati Raj Bahadur, better known as the Maharajkumar of Vizianagram, was the founding President of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and Andhra Cricket Association. He was captain of the Indian cricket team in the 1930s and a cricket commentator in the 1960s. He is credited with furthering the development of cricket in Andhra and Uttar Pradesh. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is the governing body of Cricket in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The association is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and governs the Andhra cricket team. The association was founded in 1953 and has been affiliated to the BCCI ever since. The ACA operates the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy International Cricket Stadium, in Visakhapatnam, which hosts International level Test, ODI and T20 Cricket matches. Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, formerly Ekana International Cricket Stadium, and commonly known as Ekana Cricket Stadium, is a cricket stadium in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in India. It is a stadium under public-private partnership and is a venue for Test, ODI, T20I, Indian Premier League and for many other domestic tournament cricket matches. Lt. Col. Pusapati Vijay Ananda Gajapathi Raju (28 December 1905 – 2 December 1965), better known as the Maharajkumar of Vizianagram or ''Vizzy'', was an Indian cricketer, cricket administrator and politician. Childhood Vizzy was the second son of Pusapati Vijaya Rama Gajapathi Raju, the ruler of Vizianagaram. His title ''Maharajkumar'' (prince) comes for this reason.
