UCPH School Of Veterinary Medicine And Animal Science
The UCPH School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (UCPH Vetschool) is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen (UCPH) in Copenhagen, Denmark. Based at the university's Frederiksberg Campus in Frederiksberg and the Taastrup Campus in the suburb of Taastrup, the school originates in the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University which was merged into UCPH in 2007. It is the only institution that trains veterinarians in Denmark. The programme is taught in two veterinary teaching hospitals, one at the Frederiksberg Campus and one for large animals in Taastrup. History In January 2007, the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University was merged into the University of Copenhagen and was renamed as the Faculty of Life Sciences. Veterinary education is the tertiary education of veterinarians. To become a veterinarian, one must first complete a veterinary degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM , V.M.D. , BVS, BVSc, BVMS, BVM, cand.med.vet). Frederiksberg
Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is formally an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the City of Copenhagen. It occupies an area of less than 9 km2 and had a population of 103,192 in 2015. Frederiksberg is an enclave surrounded by Copenhagen Municipality. Taastrup () is a Danish railway town or/and suburb of Copenhagen - 15 km west of the capital's city centre, and formerly the administrative seat of Høje-Taastrup Municipality, Region Hovedstaden. Taastrup Campus is a university campus operated by University of Copenhagen (UCPH) in Taastrup on the western outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark.
