Ushbas
The Ushbas ( kk, Үшбас) is a river in southern Kazakhstan. It has a length of and a drainage basin of .Google Earth The river flows across Sarysu district of the Zhambyl Region and Sozak District of the Turkistan Region. It has its mouth near Kumkent village. Course The Ushbas river has its origin in the northern slopes of the Karatau Range. It heads roughly northwestwards down a deep mountain valley with steep sides. In its final stretch it bends and flows roughly northwards, parallel to the Burkittі (Бүркітті), a left tributary of the Shabakty river, to the east. Finally it ends up in the southeastern shore of Kyzylkol lake. The Ushbas is fed mainly by rain and underground water. Kyzylkol
Kyzylkol ( kk, Қызылкөл; russian: Кызылколь) is a lake in Sozak District, Turkestan Region, Kazakhstan. The lake lies east of Sholakkorgan town and a little to the west of Kumkent. Kyzylkol lake is a Important Bird Area, where tens and even hundreds of thousands of birds may rest at the lake at a given time. Geography Kyzylkol is located in an arid area to the north of the northern slopes of the Karatau Mountains. The lake has an elongated shape from east to west. It lies at the bottom of a round basin, surrounded by two terrace-like concentric strips of terrain with takir and salt marsh near the shores. The western and southern coastline is steep with loess cliffs, but to the north and east it is flat. The Ushbas river flows into the southeastern shore of the lake from the Karatau. Shabakty
The Shabakty ( kk, Шабақты; russian: Шабакты) is a river in southern Kazakhstan. It has a length of and a drainage basin of .Google Earth The river flows across Sarysu District of the Zhambyl Region. There are two inhabited places by the riverbank, Saudakent near the mouth and Aktogay in the upper course. The water of the river is used by local households and for irrigating crops. Course The Shabakty river has its origin in a spring of the northern slopes of the Karatau Range. It heads roughly northwestwards down a canyon with steep sides. The bottom of the river channel is pebbly and the water is fresh and clean. In its final stretch its valley widens and the river bends and flows roughly northwards, parallel to the Ushbas river to the west. Sentinel-2 is an Earth observation mission from the Copernicus Programme that systematically acquires optical imagery at high spatial resolution (10 m to 60 m) over land and coastal waters. Karatau ( kz, Қаратау, ''Qaratau'') is an administrative center in the Talas region located in the Jambyl Region in the south of Kazakhstan. It has an estimated population of roughly 30,000 in 1999. , the population is now 27,667. The largest city from Karatau, Taraz, is approximately 100 km to the southwest.
