Urmas Tartes
Urmas Tartes is an Estonian biologist and nature photographer. Life and work Tartes ended his studies in Nõo Secondary school in 1982 with a gold medal and graduated from University of Tartu in 1989 with ''cum laude'' as biologist-zoologist. He became Doctor of Philosophy in 1995 with a thesis "Respiration Rhythms in Insects". Since 1989 he worked in Estonian Institute of Zoology and Botany. Between 1996 and 2004 he served as the director of the institute. Between 2005 and 2010 he was a professor in Estonian University of Life Sciences. From then on, he continued as a freelance nature photographer and writer. Awards He was the recipient of the Fourth Class of Order of the White Star in 2001. In 2009 he won Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year in the category "Animals in their Environment" with a photo of a springtail on a snowflake.

Urmas Sisask (9 September 1960 – 17 December 2022) was an Estonian composer. Biography Sisask was born in Rapla on 9 September 1960. One of the major inspirations for his music was astronomy. Based on the trajectories of the planets in the Solar System, he created the "planetal scale", a mode consisting of the pitches C#, D, F#, G#, and A. Later, he discovered to his surprise that this was exactly the same as the Japanese ''Kumajoshi mode'', which is also known as the Japanese pentatonic scale. Sisask was a Roman Catholic, and much of what he composed was sacred music. Urmas Rooba (born 8 July 1978 in Kaaruka) is a retired Estonian footballer, who last played for Paide Linnameeskond in Meistriliiga. He played the position of defender. Club career Rooba played for FC Midtjylland before he joined FC København. He was injury plagued at the Danish capital, and moved to Vejle Boldklub in 2006, but because of his injuries he waited until 20 May 2007 to make his debut for the first team. Urmas Ott (April 23, 1955 – October 17, 2008) was an Estonian television and radio journalist, and famous talk show host in Soviet Union, Estonia and Russia. Ott was born in Otepää and first appeared on the Soviet Channel One in 1986 as host of ''Television Acquaintance'' (russian: Телевизионное знакомство) show. He later worked on Russian Channel One and Estonian ETV, hosting "Urmas Ott and Others" on the latter channel. Career On television he interviewed well-known people, including Anatoly Karpov, Boris Spassky, Irina Rodnina, Ilya Glazunov, Chuck Norris and Alla Pugacheva.
