Upper Montclair Country Club
Upper Montclair Country Club is an A. W. Tillinghast designed golf course located in Clifton, New Jersey. History The original 18-hole golf course and a brand new Clubhouse opened in 1928. In 1954 Robert Trent Jones Sr. led major course renovation transforming Upper Montclair Country Club into the present 27-hole Championship design. In 2000 the club hired Roger Rulewich to complete a course renovation project that included installing state of the art drainage and irrigation system, while reshaping and restoring all of the bunkers throughout the 27 hole facility. Lee Trevino
Lee Buck Trevino (born December 1, 1939) is an American retired professional golfer who is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career. The Cognizant Founders Cup is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in Clifton, New Jersey. It debuted in 2011 at the Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. The tournament is designed as a tribute to the founders of the LPGA. The current title sponsor of the tournament is Cognizant, an American multinational technology company that provides business consulting, information technology, and outsourcing services. In 2011, using a unique format conducted for the first time in LPGA history, the players did not receive a cash payout. Instead, the tournament donated half of the $1 million tournament purse to charity and the other half to individual charities chosen by the top-10 finishers. Lorena Ochoa Reyes (; born 15 November 1981) is a Mexican former professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010. Sybase Classic
The Sybase Classic was a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour for twenty years, from 1990 to 2009. The event was originally known as the "Big Apple Classic", but the name was dropped in 2007 when the tournament relocated from the New York City area to New Jersey. From 1992 through 2006, ShopRite sponsored the ShopRite LPGA Classic in Atlantic City. For its first seventeen years, the event was held at the Wykagyl Country Club in the Wykagyl section of New Rochelle, New York. In 2007 the venue was changed to the Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, New Jersey. John Schroeder (golfer)
John Lawrence Schroeder (born November 12, 1945) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour. Schroeder was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, the son of tennis great Ted Schroeder. He attended the University of Michigan and was a member of the golf team, an All-American in 1968. He turned pro in 1969. Schroeder had 35 top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events including a win at the 1973 U.S. Professional Match Play Championship. In the middle of his tour career he also had some success in Europe. He led the 1977 Open Championship after the first round and wound up in a tie for 9th. Allen Michael Doyle (born July 26, 1948) is an American professional golfer who played on the Nike Tour, PGA Tour, and Champions Tour. Life and career Doyle was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and raised in the Boston suburb of Norwood, Massachusetts. He attended Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, and Norwich University in Vermont where he hosts an annual golf tournament to benefit the Norwich Hockey Team. Robert B. Dickson (born January 25, 1944) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Amateur career Dickson was born in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was introduced to golf at the age of five by his father, Ben, a club pro/manager at the McAlester Country Club, and later club pro at the Muskogee Country Club (1958–1978). He attended high school in Muskogee, and was the state 2A golf champion for three years. Dickson attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he was a two-time All-American as a member of the golf team from 1964–1966.
