Oh Ji-young (golfer)
Ji-Young Oh ( ko, 오지영, born 3 July 1988) is a South Korean professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Oh started playing golf at the age of 12 and was named to the Korean National Team in 2005 at the age of 16. In 2006, she came to the United States and enrolled at the Leadbetter Academy. She played on the Future Collegians World Tour, a second tier amateur golf league, and won all six events she entered. In the fall of 2006 she entered the LPGA Qualifying Tournament as an amateur and finished 9th, earning exempt status on the LPGA Tour for 2007. She immediately turning professional. Professional career In 2007, her best finish was sixth at the Safeway Classic, where she carded a career-low 66 in the opening round. LPGA Championship
The Women's PGA Championship (branded as the KPMG Women's PGA Championship for sponsorship reasons) is a women's professional golf tournament. First held in 1955, it is one of five majors on the LPGA Tour. It is not recognized as a major by the Ladies European Tour, which does not recognize any of the three majors played in the United States. Formerly known as the LPGA Championship, the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) announced in 2014 that the PGA of America would become a partner of the event, and that it would be renamed the Women's PGA Championship beginning in 2015—becoming a sister event to the men's PGA Championship (in a similar manner to the U.S. Women's Open being a sister event to the men's U.S. Open). The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a women's major golf championships, major championship in Professional golf tours#Women's tours, women's professional golf. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female professional golfers from around the world. The 2015 LPGA Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world. The Tour began in Ocala, Florida on January 28 and ended on November 22 at the Gold Course of the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The Tour began at Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island in The Bahamas on January 23 and ended on November 23 at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The most significant addition to the Tour in 2014 was a new team event, the International Crown.
