United States Army War College International Fellows Hall Of Fame
The US AWC International Fellows Hall of Fame honors United States Army War College, USAWC international graduates "who have attained, through military merit, the highest positions in their nation's armed forces, or who have held an equivalent position by rank or responsibility in a multinational organization." Commandant of USAWC DeWitt C. Smith Jr., DeWitt C. Smith is primarily responsible for the creation of the International Fellows Program’s (IFP) 1977. From a start with six foreign students in 1978, the program now sustains over forty International Fellows (IFs) per year. Usually, only one IF per representative country per academic year participates in the program. While the fellows program was established in 1978 and the first induction into the IF Hall of Fame took place in 1988. Inductees are awarded in person at Carlisle Barracks. United States Army War College
The United States Army War College (USAWC) is a U.S. Army educational institution in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on the 500-acre (2 km2) campus of the historic Carlisle Barracks. It provides graduate-level instruction to senior military officers and civilians to prepare them for senior leadership assignments and responsibilities. Each year, a number of Army colonels and lieutenant colonels are considered by a board for admission. Approximately 800 students attend at any one time, half in a two-year-long distance learning program, and the other half in an on-campus, full-time resident program lasting ten months. Upon completion, the college grants its graduates a master's degree in Strategic Studies. Othmar Commenda (born 29 May 1954) is a retired General of the Austrian Armed Forces and former Chief of its General Staff. Career After his basic military service in 1975, he graduated at the Theresian Military Academy. Chiu Kuo-cheng (; born 12 April 1953) is a Taiwanese politician and retired general of the Republic of China Army. He is the current Minister of National Defense. Damir Krstičević
Damir Krstičević (; born 1 July 1969) is a Croatian general and politician who served as the Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister from 2016 until his resignation in May 2020, which he tendered due to the deaths of two Croatian military pilots in an aircraft accident. Biography Krstičević was born on July 1, 1969 in Vrgorac, Split-Dalmatia County in SFR Yugoslavia. Since his childhood, he knew he wanted to be a soldier. Artur Tiganik (born 13 January 1971) is an Estonian Kindral, Brigadier General who served as the Deputy Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces. Neyko N. Nenov ( bg, Нейко Н. Ненов) (18 November 1961 – 28 January 2015) was a Bulgarian major general. Education Nenov was born in Trankovo, Yambol Province, Bulgaria.
