Rajendra Chhetri
General Rajendra Chhetri ( ne, राजेन्द्र क्षत्री; IAST:rājendra kṣatrī) born 15 November 1960) is a Nepali military officer and former Chief of Army Staff of the Nepalese Army, He was conferred Honorary General of the Indian Army. Career Chhetri joined the Nepal Army as a lieutenant on October 24, 1978, and was commissioned into the Rajdal Battalion from Kharipati. He completed war-college from the United States. He was promoted to major general in November 2011, and to lieutenant general in February 2015. He assumed office of the Chief of Army Staff on 10 September 2015, following the retirement of General Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) ( ne, नेपालको प्रधानसेनापति), informally known as Chief Sa'ab ( ne, चिफ सा'ब), is the commander and highest-ranking officer of the Nepalese Armed Forces. The Chief of Army Staff is the Chief of the Nepalese Army and reports to the Ministry of Defense. IAST
The International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration (IAST) is a transliteration scheme that allows the lossless romanisation of Indic scripts as employed by Sanskrit and related Indic languages. It is based on a scheme that emerged during the nineteenth century from suggestions by Charles Trevelyan, William Jones, Monier Monier-Williams and other scholars, and formalised by the Transliteration Committee of the Geneva Oriental Congress, in September 1894. IAST makes it possible for the reader to read the Indic text unambiguously, exactly as if it were in the original Indic script.
