The United Africa Tigers are a Namibian football club. They are based in the Namibian capital Windhoek, and play in the country's top league, the Namibia Premier League. In the 1990s, they were sponsored by Mukorob Pelagic and referred to as the MP Tigers. Sam Nujoma Stadium
Sam Nujoma Stadium (also called the Sam Nujoma Soccer Stadium or SNSS) is a football (soccer) stadium in Katutura, Windhoek, Namibia. The stadium holds 10,300 and was finished in 2005. Windhoek (, , ) is the capital and largest city of Namibia. It is located in central Namibia in the Khomas Highland plateau area, at around above sea level, almost exactly at the country's geographical centre. The population of Windhoek in 2020 was 431,000 which is growing continually due to an influx from all over Namibia. Windhoek is the social, economic, political, and cultural centre of the country. Namibia Premier League
The Namibia Premier League (NPL), also known as Debmarine Namibia Premiership is the highest level of domestic association football in Namibia. The league was established in 1990 and was trimmed to 12 teams from the traditional 16 in 2005. It was folded in 2020 after ongoing problems with the Namibia Football Association, which finally ended the relationship. Meanwhile, the NFA founded the Namibia Football Premier League. Football in Namibia is governed by the Namibia Football Association. The Namibia Premier League is the main domestic league. The Namibia national football team has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup, but has twice been runner up in the COSAFA Cup. They qualified for two Africa Cups of Nations, in 1998 and 2008, being eliminated in the first round both times. 2008 Africa Cup of Nations In September 2007, the national team qualified for just their second ever African Cup of Nations appearance, which took place in Ghana. Mukorob Pelagic
The Mukurob, also Mukorob, (Finger of God) near Asab in Namibia, was a sandstone rock formation in the Namib desert which collapsed on 7 December 1988. Geology Mukurob consisted mostly of sandstone. The structure was 12 m high and up to 4.5 m wide, and weighed some 450 tons. What made Mukorob so special, however, was its base. Just 3 m long and 1.5 m wide, it was much narrower than the mass of rock which it supported. Mukurob was once part of the Weissrand Plateau before 50,000 years of erosion slowly isolated the structure from the rest of the plateau.
