Seosaeng-myeon
Seosaeng-myeon (, ) is a Myeon (administrative division), myeon of Ulju County, Ulsan, South Korea. As of 2022, its total population is 8,650. History During the time of Silla, Silla Kingdom, this region is the administrative center of Saengseoryang-gun (생서량군,生西良郡), which governed the area of today's Seosaeng-myeon, Onsan-eup and Onyang-eup. In 757, Saengseoryang-gun was renamed Dongan-gun (동안군,東安郡), and Upung-hyeon (우풍현,虞風縣, present day Ungchon-myeon and Yangsan-si's Ungsang region) was placed under Dongan as a subsidiary county. During the Goryeo dynasty, Dongan-gun was downgraded to a prefecture and incorporated into Heungryobu (흥려부, present day Ulsan). In the early Joseon dynasty, a naval manhoyeong (군만호영,萬戶營, division with 10,000 soldiers) stationed in Seosaengpo (서생포,西生浦) in the eastern part of the region. Ulsan (), officially the Ulsan Metropolitan City is South Korea's seventh-largest metropolitan city and the eighth-largest city overall, with a population of over 1.1 million inhabitants. It is located in the south-east of the country, neighboring Busan to the south and facing Gyeongju to the north. Jakgwaecheon
Jakgwaecheon is a stream and popular tourist attraction in Ulju County, Ulsan, South Korea. Formed by water erosion, the stream is lined with rocks that have been carved with the names of poetry contest winners. Ganjeolgot
Ganjeolgot is a park and popular tourist destination in Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju County, Ulsan, South Korea. Every New Year's Eve, people gather at the park for the Ganjeolgot Sunrise Festival. Ganjeolgot is the easternmost part of the Korean Peninsula, so it is where you can see the first sunrise of the year, earlier than anywhere else in Korea. Ganjeolgot is also home to the world's second-largest mailbox, which was built in 2006. People write their wishes on postcards and put them in the mailbox with the belief that doing this will make their wishes come true. The name Ganjeolgot is composed of two parts: ''Ganjeol'', Chinese for a long bamboo pole used to harvest fruits from tall trees, and ''Got'', a native Korean word meaning "cape." Eonyang
Eonyang is an ''eup'', or large village, in Ulju-gun, a largely rural district of Ulsan, South Korea. It is near the Seoknam Nun's Temple. It has a traditional market every five days. Education Eonyang is home to two public schools which focus on science and technology. UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) is a university emphasizing science and technology. As of April 2012, the school has a teaching staff of 184, and a student population of more than 3,800. Ulsan Science High School is a selective public boarding high school which focuses on the sciences. It is located in Sangbuk-myeon (상북면), near Eonyang. Founded in 2006, the school has advanced facilities and a large campus which is situated in a secluded, mountainous environment.
