The Ukraine national rugby league team represents Ukraine in rugby league football. The team made their international debut as part of the 2009 Rugby League European Bowl, 2009 European Bowl. Ukraine was originally scheduled to play in the 2008 Rugby League European Bowl, 2008 European Bowl, but withdrew at the last minute due to problems with the team's visas. Rugby League European Federation
The European Rugby League (ERL) is the umbrella body for nations playing the sport of rugby league football across Europe. In the absence of other continental federations, ERL also controls rugby league in North America (including Central America), the Middle East and Africa. History 2003-2019 The federation was founded January 2003 following an initiative between Richard Lewis, Executive Chairman of Britain's Rugby Football League (RFL) and his French counterpart Jean Paul Ferre. The RLEF's first constitution was approved in January 2004 and the federation's first Board of Directors was elected. Dynamo Stadium (Kharkiv)
Dynamo Stadium in Kharkiv, Ukraine was the home ground of several Kharkiv professional football clubs, such as FC Metalist Kharkiv, FC Helios Kharkiv and FC Kharkiv. The stadium is also used for home matches of the Ukrainian national team for Rugby League matches. History The stadium was built in 1931 and was used by teams from Kharkiv in the Soviet Championship, including FC Dynamo Kharkiv and FC Lokomotyv Kharkiv. The stadium was damaged during World War II, and later reconstructed. Lokomotiv Kharkiv, the predecessor to FC Metalist Kharkiv in the Soviet Top League, used the stadium until they moved to Metalist Stadium. The stadium was repaired again in 1971, and was practically idle until 1997. Until 2008, the stadium was used by FC Helios Kharkiv, who were leasing it from the municipal administration.
