Ukraine participated at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Although ahead of the start of the Olympic Games, the Ministry for Affairs of Family, Youth Policy, and Sport expected Ukrainians to win medals in figure skating, freestyle, tobogganing and skiing, the Ukrainian national team completed its performance in the Olympic Games without any medals. Snowboarding At The 2018 Winter Olympics
Snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held at the Bokwang Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang, South Korea. A total of ten snowboarding events were scheduled to take place between 10 and 24 February 2018. The parallel slalom event, which made its debut four years earlier at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, was dropped from the games in 2018 in favour of a new big air event. Qualification A total of 258 quota spots were available to athletes to compete at the games (142 men and 116 women). Each National Olympic Committee was permitted to enter a maximum of 26 athletes, with a maximum of 14 men or 14 women. Each event had its own maximum number of quota spots, however slopestyle and big air were calculated jointly per nation. The men's pursuit competition in biathlon at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was held at Whistler Olympic Park in Whistler, British Columbia on February 16, 2010. Competition The pursuit takes place over a distance of . The start of the competition was marred by irregularities in how officials released athletes at the beginning of their runs. In pursuit competitions, athlete's start times are staggered by the differences in their times in a previous sprint, in this case the 10km sprint event held on February 14. Andriy Vasylovych Deryzemlya ( uk, Андрій Васильович Дериземля; born 18 August 1977) is a former Ukrainian biathlete who competed at the top level for eleven seasons before winning his first international medal, a bronze medal at the 2007 World Championship. In 2008 together with Oksana Khvostenko he won World Team Challenge. Deryzemlya retired from the sport after the end of the 2013–14 season, starting a political career. In the 2014 parliamentary election Deryzemlya took part at the single-mandate district No. 205 in Chernihiv Oblast and failed them having finished second with 14.1% of votes. Before that he had founded the Centre for Support of Army in August 2014. On November 29th, 2014, Deryzemlya refused from his plot of land in Chernihiv in favour of the family of perished in Donbass Ukrainian soldier.
