U-Bix Classic
The U-Bix Classic was a golf tournament held in Australia from 1984 to 1987 at The Federal Golf Club, Canberra. The event was called the Honeywell Classic in 1984. The tournament was held during November in 1984 and 1985, and again in January 1987, with no edition in 1986 due to being rescheduled from November to January. This proved to be the last time the tournament was held as sponsors Konica withdrew their support later in the year. New South Wales PGA Championship
The New South Wales PGA Championship was a professional golf tournament played in New South Wales, Australia between 1923 and 2015. History The inaugural event was held in 1923 and was won by Fred Popplewell with a score of 311. Dan Soutar had led by two strokes after the first 36 holes at The Australian Golf Club but Popplewell took a three shot lead after a third round of 74 and held on in the final round to win by a stroke. The final 36 holes were played at Royal Sydney. It was a stroke-play event again in 1924 but thereafter it was generally match-play until World War II. After the war it was a match play event in 1946 and 1950 but otherwise it was a stroke-play tournament. Ossie Moore (born 6 July 1958) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life Moore was born in Murwillumbah. Professional career Moore played on the European Tour from 1984 to 1991. George Serhan
George Serhan (born 30 June 1954) is an Australian professional golfer. Serhan was a full-time pro on the PGA Tour of Australasia from the mid-1970s through the mid-1990s. Although he won a number of minor tournaments in the Australasian region he is best remembered for winning his home state's open, the New South Wales Open, in 1980. It was his only official win on the PGA Tour of Australasia. Early life Serhan is from Muswellbrook, New South Wales. He is of Lebanese descent. In 1971, in an effort to be a professional golfer, Serhan moved to Sydney. He trained at the nearby Roseville Golf Club. Gerald William Taylor (born 15 August 1947) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League as a defender for Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he spent the majority of his playing career, and Swindon Town, and in the United Soccer Association league for the Los Angeles Wolves. Career Taylor was born in Hull, and began his football career at Wath Wanderers, the Yorkshire-based nursery club of Wolverhampton Wanderers, before heading south to join them. Peter Albert Charles Senior (born 31 July 1959) is an Australian professional golfer who has won more than twenty tournaments around the world. Senior has competed mainly on the PGA Tour of Australasia, where he has had the most success and won the Order of Merit on four occasions, and the European Tour. He has also played occasionally on the Japan Golf Tour and the United States-based PGA Tour.
