Tullycraft
Tullycraft is an American indie pop band from Seattle, Washington, that formed in 1995. They have been associated with the genre of twee pop; in fact, they are considered to be one of the true pioneers of the American twee pop movement. They are known for their DIY ethic, only releasing albums on independently owned and operated record labels. History Formation and early recordings The band's original line-up was Sean Tollefson (bass/vocals), Gary Miklusek (guitar/vocals), and Jeff Fell (drums). Prior to forming Tullycraft, both Tollefson and Fell played in the band Crayon in Bellingham, Washington and Miklusek played in the band Wimp Factor 14 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They met each other while their respective bands were on tour together. On February 28, 1995, Tullycraft played their first show at ReBar, a small club in Seattle. Joining them on the bill that evening was the band Incredible Force of Junior. Eventually, Chris Munford (from Incredible Force of Junior) wou ...

The Railway Prince Hotel
''The Railway Prince Hotel'' is the seventh studio album by American band Tullycraft, released by Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records in February 2019. The album had a modestly different sound than the band's previous releases, somewhat due to the fact that long-time drummer (and original Tullycraft member) Jeff Fell, did not make an appearance on the album, but also because of the new approach the members of the band took to the recording process. Much of the album was improvised during the recording sessions. This was an untried approach for Tullycraft. Equipped with lyrics and vocal melodies (provided by Tollefson) the band composed many of the new songs from the ground up in the studio. Most of the album was recorded and mixed by Pete Remine at Dubtrain Studio in Seattle, Washington. Four of the tracks were mixed by Larry Crane at Jackpot! Studio in Portland, Oregon. Reception A review by Rich Quinlan in '' Jersey Beat'' says "having been immersed in college radio in the mid- ...

Beat Surf Fun
''Beat Surf Fun'' is the third studio album from the indiepop band Tullycraft. The entire album was recorded on analog tape at a practice space the band rented in Ballard, WA. It is the first record the band released on the Portland-based Magic Marker Records. The album included the single "Wild Bikini" and the international indie pop hit "Twee." ''Beat Surf Fun'' also marks the first appearance of vocalist, Jenny Mears, who would eventually join Tullycraft. The design of the CD back card can be confusing since it lists the title of the album on the sides as "Fun Beat Surf" and "Surf Beat Fun" respectively. Track listing ''All tracks by Tullycraft except where noted.'' # " Twee" – 3:23 # "Glitter & Twang" – 4:09 # "Christine, ND" (Six Cents and Natalie) – 3:18 # " Wild Bikini" – 2:34 # "DIY Queen" – 4:19 # "Cowgirls On Parade" – 3:12 # "I Kept The Beach Boys" – 2:27 # "Orange Cake Mix" – 1:50 # "Knockout" (Benji Cossa) – 1:55 # "Radio Theme" – 0:46 # "S ...

City Of Subarus
''City of Subarus'' is the second album from the indie pop band Tullycraft. Chris Munford from the band Incredible Force of Junior joined Tullycraft prior to the recording of this album, making the three piece a foursome. On this sophomore release, Tullycraft introduced electronic beats and a punk-ish sound contrasting with their debut Old Traditions, New Standards. The entire record was self-recorded using an Otari MX5050 8-track analog tape machine at a house rented by Munford and drummer Jeff Fell. The house was located across the street from a Subaru dealership, inspiring the album's title. Jen Abercrombie from the Los Angeles band Rizzo provided additional vocals on many of the songs. Track listing #"8 Great Ways" #"Belinda" #"Ticket Tonight" #"Crush This Town" #"Godspeed" #"Miss Douglas County" #"Actives & Pledges" #"The Lives of Cleopatra" #"Bee Sting Stings" #"Vacation in Christine, ND" Personnel * Sean Tollefson – vocals, bass * Jeff Fell – drums, bass * Gary Mikl ...

Tullycraft – Lost In Light Rotation 7"
''Lost in Light Rotation'' is the sixth studio album from indie pop band Tullycraft. After a three-year hiatus, the album was the band's first since '' Every Scene Needs a Center'' in 2007. All five band members (Tollefson, Fell, Munford, Mears and Hale) reunited for the album, and the band began the recording process during the summer of 2012. Tracking began with engineer Pete Remine at Dubtrain studio in Seattle. Producer Phil Ek, whose credits include The Shins' ''Chutes Too Narrow'', Band Of Horses' ''Everything All the Time'' and five Built to Spill albums, was recruited to mix the record. Ek's influence was apparent as the album had a slightly more polished, less lo-fi sound than past releases. The album was co-released on April 23, 2013, by Magic Marker Records in the US and Fortuna Pop! in the UK. Track listing ''All tracks by Tullycraft .'' # "Agincourt" # "Queenie Co." # "Lost in Light Rotation" # "Westchester Turnabouts" # "From Wichita with Love" # "Elks Lodge Ri ...

Every Scene Needs A Center
''Every Scene Needs a Center'' is the fifth studio album from the indiepop band Tullycraft. Arguably, the band’s most ambitious album, ''Every Scene Needs A Center'' ranges from punky bursts to mid-tempo near-ballads. The band spent over a year working on the mini-epic album, splitting time between a professional recording studio and their own studio, recording entirely on analog tape. The album reached #29 on the CMJ Top 200 chart in 2007. Cher Doll Records
Cher Doll Records is an American independent record label founded in Seattle, Washington, by Nancy Ostrander in 1993. The label released records for several indie-pop bands, including Neutral Milk Hotel's first single. History Founder Nancy Ostrander was inspired to start Cher Doll by the fanzine and record label Four Letter Words, one of the earliest of the American indiepop labels started up in response to the C86 and twee movements in the UK. Cher Doll started out as a seven-inch singles-only label associated with Ostrander's ''Hip Clown Rag'' fanzine. In 1992 Cher Doll released Crayon's "The Dream is Gone" and Veronica Lake's "Sleepyhouse" on a split 7-inch record, as well as Crayon's 1994 Phantom Third Channel split 7-inch EP. The label also recorded for Blanket, a Seattle band inspired by Spacemen 3 and the Velvet Underground whose members went on to play in Sno*Boy and Tullycraft. In 1993, at that time living in Seattle, Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel sent a tape of ...

''Disenchanted Hearts Unite'' is the fourth studio album from the indiepop band Tullycraft. The band recorded half of the album at Soundhouse Studios in Seattle, and the other half in guitarist, Chris Munford's living room. Jenny Mears provided additional vocals on many of the songs, and Corianton Hale also made a guest appearance. Shortly after the recording of the ''Disenchanted Hearts Unite'', lead guitarist, Harold Hollingsworth left the group and both Mears & Hale joined the band. Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records
Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records is an American independent record label based in Athens, Georgia. Its catalogue features indie rock, indie pop and hip-hop music, with several of its artists associated with or influenced by The Elephant 6 Recording Company. History The label began as a compilation album, ''Happy Happy Birthday To Me Volume 1'', before it expanded into a 7" singles club, which released records by Of Montreal, Marshmallow Coast, The Essex Green, Great Lakes, and Masters of the Hemisphere, while also releasing several tape and CD compilations. The singles club was noted for its individuality, with each individual record by an artist often being different. For example, each copy of The Essex Green's single came with a different original photograph on the sleeve, while Marshmallow Coast's were hand-drawn by school children. The label then began to release full-length CDs for the first time, the first of these being Birddog's ''A Sweet and Bitter Fancy''. The labe ...
