Tsutomu Nihei
is a Japanese manga artist. Nihei has been drawing comics professionally since the mid-1990s. In 1995 he was awarded the Jiro Taniguchi Special Prize in that year's Afternoon Four Seasons Award for his submission, ''Blame''. After working as an assistant to veteran comic artist Tsutomu Takahashi, Nihei went on to launch his debut series '' Blame!'' in Monthly Afternoon in 1997. Following the success of '' Blame!'', he next penned '' Wolverine: Snikt!'' (published by Marvel Comics) and '' Biomega''. In 2009, Nihei returned to Afternoon to launch what would become his most successful series, ''Knights of Sidonia''. An architectural student, Nihei's early work were mainly wordless, relying on visuals and backgrounds to tell their stories. Lucca Comics & Games is an annual Comic book convention, comic book and gaming convention in Lucca, Italy, traditionally held at the end of October, in conjunction with All Saints' Day. It is the largest comics festival in Europe, and the second biggest in the world after the Comiket. History The Salone Internazionale del Comics ("International Congress of Comics") was launched by a Franco-Italian partnership, consisting of Italians Rinaldo Traini and Romano Calisi and Frenchman (forming the International Congress of Cartoonists and Animators) in 1965 in Bordighera. ''Halo'' is a military science fiction media franchise, originally developed by Bungie and currently managed and developed by 343 Industries, part of Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios. is an action-adventure game franchise created by Nintendo. ''Hellraiser'' is a 1987 British supernatural horror film written and directed by Clive Barker, and produced by Christopher Figg, based on Barker's 1986 novella ''The Hellbound Heart''. The film marked Barker's directorial debut. Its plot involves a mystical puzzle box that summons the Cenobite (Hellraiser), Cenobites, a group of extra-dimensional, Sadomasochism, sadomasochistic beings who cannot differentiate between pain and pleasure. Clive Barker
Clive Barker (born 5 October 1952) is an English novelist, playwright, author, film director, and visual artist who came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of short stories, the ''Books of Blood'', which established him as a leading horror writer. He has since written many novels and other works. His fiction has been adapted into films, notably the ''Hellraiser'' series, the first installment of which he also wrote and directed, and the '' Candyman'' series.
