Tropical Storm Cimaron (2013)
Tropical Storm Cimaron, known in the Philippines as Tropical Storm Isang, was a weak tropical storm, with only a pressure of 1000 hPa and 45 mph. It formed and made landfall in the Philippines, especially Luzon, and China, as well as affecting Southern Taiwan during its nearby passage. Despite being weak, the storm caused extensive damage amounting to approximately $325 million in China, as well as 6 deaths in total, with 2 in the Philippines. Meteorological history In late July 14, a tropical low was formed near Eastern Luzon, as it was gradually moving eastward, the tropical low's deep convection started to wrap around forming a better-defined circulation. Calayan Group Of Islands
Calayan, officially the Municipality of Calayan ( ilo, Ili ti Calayan; tl, Bayan ng Calayan), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 17,410 people. Calayan is home to the Calayan rail, a flightless bird identified as a separate species in 2004 and endemic to Calayan Island. Typhoons in the Philippines can occur any time of the year, with the months of June to September being most active, with August being the most active individual month and May the least active. Tropical Storm Merbok (2017)
Severe Tropical Storm Merbok, was a tropical cyclone that impacted southern China in June 2017. Merbok developed out of a tropical depression which was first monitored by the JMA while it was west of Manila, Philippines, on June 10. The system soon was monitored as 04W by the JTWC. The depression then strengthened into Tropical Storm Merbok before making landfall in eastern Shenzhen, China. Merbok then weakened before dissipating over China on June 13. Merbok caused tropical storm-force winds in Hong Kong, as the center of the storm passed nearby. Merbok also caused property damage and agricultural damage across Guangdong Province. Total economic losses from Merbok were counted to be CN¥600 million (US$88.3 million). Tropical Storm Hagibis (2014)
Tropical Storm Hagibis was a tropical storm that, along with the southwest monsoon, brought heavy rainfall to the Philippines for nearly a week in June 2014. The storm formed on June 13 and dissipated on June 18. Hagibis made landfall on June 15, causing damage estimated to be US$198 million. Hagibis is a Filipino word, meaning fast or swiftness. Tropical Storm Linfa (2009)
Severe Tropical Storm Linfa was the second named storm to develop in the South China Sea during the 2009 Pacific typhoon season. It is the seventh depression and third typhoon of the season. Forming out of an area of low pressure on June 14, the storm briefly attained tropical depression status before degenerating. By June 17 the system regenerated in the South China Sea. Slowly tracking northward, the storm intensified, attaining severe tropical storm status on June 19 and peaking in intensity the following day. On June 21, Linfa made landfall in Fujian Province, China as a tropical storm before weakening to a tropical depression.
