Trans Ethiopia (Amharic: ትራንስ ኢትዮጵያ) was a professional Ethiopian association football, football club based in north Mek'ele. They were a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and played in the national league (now the Ethiopian Higher League, Higher League), the second division of Ethiopian football. Tigray Stadium
Tigray Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Mekelle, Ethiopia. The stadium has a capacity of over 60,000 people. Tigray Stadium was opened to the public in 2017, before the completion of the final phase of construction. As a result, football matches and other public events have been held without adequate seating and roofing. The stadium is home to five football clubs based in the Tigray region, including Mekelle 70 Enderta FC, Shire Endaselassie F.C., Welwalo Adigrat University F.C. and Dedebit FC. The Tigray Region, officially the Tigray National Regional State, is the northernmost regional state in Ethiopia. The Tigray Region is the homeland of the Tigrayan, Irob, and Kunama people. The Ethiopian Premier League (Amharic:የኢትዮጵያ ፕሪምየር ሊግ), known as the BetKing Ethiopian Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is the top tier association football league of Ethiopia run by the Ethiopian Premier League Share Company (formerly the Ethiopian Football Federation from 1997 to 2020). The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) (Amharic: የኢትዮጵያ እግር ኳስ ፌዴሬሽን) is the governing body of football in Ethiopia. It organizes all tiers of the national football league and the national team. It was one of the founding members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). History The Ethiopian Football Federation was founded in 1943 and became affiliated with FIFA in 1952. The Ethiopian Higher League (Amharic: የኢትዮጵያ ከፍተኛ ሊግ), also called the Ethiopian Super League, is the second division of association football in Ethiopia. Regulated by the Ethiopian Football Federation, the league is divided into three groups (Group A, Group B, and Group C) with 12 clubs in each group. It operates on a system of promotion and relegation along with the Ethiopian Premier League (first division) and the Ethiopian First League (third division). The champions of Group A, B, and C will be automatically promoted to the Premier League.
