Tigray Stadium
Tigray Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Mekelle, Ethiopia. The stadium has a capacity of over 60,000 people. Tigray Stadium was opened to the public in 2017, before the completion of the final phase of construction. As a result, football matches and other public events have been held without adequate seating and roofing. The stadium is home to five football clubs based in the Tigray region, including Mekelle 70 Enderta FC, Shire Endaselassie F.C., Welwalo Adigrat University F.C. Mekelle ( ti, መቐለ, am, መቀሌ, mäqälle, mek’elē) or Mekele is a List of zones of Ethiopia, special zone and capital city, capital of the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Mekelle was formerly the capital of Enderta province, Enderta Awrajja, awraja in Tigray Province, Tigray. Mekelle 70 Enderta FC (Amharic: መቐለ 70 እንደርታ; Tigrinya: መቐለ 70 እንደርታ) is an Ethiopian football club based in Mekelle, Ethiopia. They are a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and currently play in the top division of Ethiopian football, the Ethiopian Premier League. The club was promoted to the Ethiopian Premier League for the first time after the end of the 2016–17 season. Dedebit Football Club (Amharic: ደደቢት የእግር ኳስ ክለብ) is an Ethiopian football club based in Mekelle, Ethiopia. They play in the Ethiopian Premier League, the top tier of Ethiopian football.
