Trails (series)
''Trails'', known as in Japan, is a series of science fantasy role-playing video games by Nihon Falcom. It is a part of their larger '' The Legend of Heroes'' franchise and began with the release of '' Trails in the Sky'' in 2004. Set on the continent of Zemuria, ''Trails'' features a large cast of characters and consists of several games split into the ''Trails in the Sky'', ''Crossbell'', ''Trails of Cold Steel'', and ''Kuro no Kiseki'' story arcs. The series was conceived as a goal by Falcom to create the most ambitious story in video games, with company president Toshihiro Kondo considering it to be his life's work. The games were released exclusively in Asia until the 2010s, with Xseed Games handling its English localization until NIS America took over in 2019. ''Trials'' is a racing game series developed by Ubisoft RedLynx and published by Ubisoft, loosely based on the real-life sport of motorcycle trials. ''The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky'' is a 2004 role-playing video game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game is the first in what later became known as the ''Trails'' series, itself a part of the larger '' The Legend of Heroes'' series. ''Trails in the Sky'' was first released in Japan for Windows and was later ported to the PlayStation Portable in 2006. North American video game publisher Xseed Games acquired the rights from Falcom, but did not release it until 2011 due to the game's large amount of text necessary to translate and localize. Trails Of Cold Steel
is a 2013 role-playing video game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game is a part of the ''Trails'' series, itself a part of the larger '' The Legend of Heroes'' series. It was initially released in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita before being localized in English by Xseed Games in 2015. A Windows port was also released by Xseed in 2017, which included additional English voice acting. Another port for the PlayStation 4 was released in Japan in 2018, and worldwide the following year. A character arc is the transformation or inner journey of a character over the course of a story. Worldbuilding is the process of constructing a world, originally an imaginary one, sometimes associated with a fictional universe. Developing an imaginary setting with coherent qualities such as a history, geography, and ecology is a key task for many science fiction or fantasy writers. Worldbuilding often involves the creation of geography, a backstory, flora, fauna, inhabitants, technology and often if writing speculative fiction, different races. This may include social customs as well as invented languages for the world. The world could encompass different planets spanning vast distances of space or be limited in scope to a single small village. World building exists in novels, tabletop role-playing games, and visual media such as films, video games and comics.
