This Fragile Moment
''This Fragile Moment'' is the sole album by the art rock music collective of the same name, released in 2009. This Fragile Moment were a collective including the British singer Toyah Willcox, bass player Chris Wong (of Toyah's other band The Humans), producer and touch guitarist Markus Reuter, and the Estonian duo Fragile (drummer Arvo Urb and guitarist Robert Jürjendal). The album comprises experimental songs derived largely from live-in-the-studio group improvisations. It was conceived and recorded in Tallinn, Estonia, within several days in June 2009. The album was released on the German label Unsung Records. Though the sleeve notes quote 2010, early copies were sold exclusively via Unsung Records' online store in November 2009. Toyah Willcox
Toyah Ann Willcox (born 18 May 1958) is an English musician, actress, and TV presenter. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Willcox has had eight top 40 singles, released over 20 albums, written two books, appeared in over 40 stage plays and 10 feature films, and voiced and presented numerous television shows. Between 1977 and 1983, she fronted the band Toyah, before embarking on a solo career in the mid-1980s. At the 1982 BPI/Brit Awards, Toyah was nominated for British Breakthrough Act, and Best Female Solo Artist. Toyah was nominated a further two times in this category in 1983, and in 1984. The Humans were a British-American rock music, rock band featuring singer Toyah Willcox, drummer Bill Rieflin, and musician Chris Wong. They have released three studio albums and have performed live in the UK, Estonia and the USA before disbanding in 2020, following Rieflin's passing. History The Humans were formed in 2007 when musician Robert Fripp, who is married to Toyah Willcox, was invited to play at a birthday party for the President of Estonia. Too busy at that time, Fripp declined the invitation. Willcox then contacted the Estonian Embassy, who had issued the invitation, and offered to put an act together for the tour. The touch guitar is a stringed instrument of the guitar family which has been designed to use a fretboard-tapping playing style. Touch guitars are meant to be touched or tapped, not strummed. History The touch or tapping technique was formally codified by American guitarist Jimmie Webster in his 1952 method book called the ''Illustrated Touch System''. Robert Jürjendal (born 10 January 1966) is an Estonian guitar player and composer.
