The Neverending Story (TV Series)
''The Neverending Story'' is an animated television series, produced by CineVox Entertainment and animated by Ellipse Animation and Canadian Nelvana Limited. It aired for one season (1995–1996) on HBO, and ran for 26 episodes. In Canada, it also aired on Family Channel. The series is loosely based on Michael Ende's book, ''The Neverending Story'' (1979). Plot A young boy named Bastian helps yet again the Childlike Empress and her people of Fantasia, an imagination land that can be accessed and influenced through a magic neverending book called The Neverending Story, because the horrifying Nothing and other villains like the evil sorceress Xayide still threaten it. In the process, Bastian learns valuable lessons and gains many magical friends like the wooden Bark Troll, the luckdragon Falkor and many others. Peter Sauder
Peter Sauder is a Canadian film and TV writer, television producer and animator best known for his contributions to Nelvana franchises such as ''Care Bears'' (whose three movies he wrote), ''Babar'', '' Strawberry Shortcake'' and '' Droids''. Peter, who is originally from Toronto, wrote the first ever story for another hit Nelvana series, '' Franklin''. He is sometimes credited as Pete Sauder. Sauder also served as head writer for the first season (1983–84) of DiC's ''Inspector Gadget'' (the first season was co-produced with Nelvana), as well as Disney Channel/ CBC's live-action series ''The Edison Twins''. In the late 1990s, he was story editor for the computer-animated television programs ''Rolie Polie Olie'' and ''Donkey Kong Country''. Nelvana Enterprises, Inc. The NeverEnding Story III
''The NeverEnding Story III: Escape from Fantasia'' (also known as: ''The NeverEnding Story III: Return to Fantasia'') is a 1994 fantasy-adventure film. It is the third and final film in the franchise. It stars Jason James Richter as Bastian Balthazar Bux, and Jack Black in an early role as school bully Slip. This film primarily used the characters from Michael Ende's novel ''The Neverending Story'' (1979), with the exception of Atreyu, who is absent from the film, and introduced a new storyline. The first English translation, by Ralph Manheim, was published in 1983. The novel was later adapted into several films. Michael Ende
Michael Andreas Helmuth Ende (12 November 1929 – 28 August 1995) was a German writer of fantasy and children's fiction. He is known for his epic fantasy ''The Neverending Story'' (with its 1980s film adaptation and a 1995 animated television adaptation); other well-known works include ''Momo'' and '' Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver''. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages, sold more than 35 million copies. Early life Ende was born 12 November 1929 in Garmisch, Bavaria, the only child of the surrealist painter Edgar Ende and Luise Bartholomä Ende, a physiotherapist. In 1935, when Michael was six, the Ende family moved to the "artists' quarter of Schwabing" in Munich (Haase).
