Peter Sauder
Peter Sauder is a Canadian film and TV writer, television producer and animator best known for his contributions to Nelvana franchises such as ''Care Bears'' (whose three movies he wrote), ''Babar'', ''Strawberry Shortcake'' and '' Droids''. Peter, who is originally from Toronto, wrote the first ever story for another hit Nelvana series, ''Franklin''. He is sometimes credited as Pete Sauder. Sauder also served as head writer for the first season (1983–84) of DiC's ''Inspector Gadget'' (the first season was co-produced with Nelvana), as well as Disney Channel/ CBC's live-action series ''The Edison Twins''. In the late 1990s, he was story editor for the computer-animated television programs ''Rolie Polie Olie'' and ''Donkey Kong Country''. Sauder started his career working as animator on ''A Cosmic Christmas'', ''Romie-0 and Julie-8'', ''Intergalactic Thanksgiving'' and '' Easter Fever''. ''Little Rosey'' is an animated television series produced by Canada-based Nelvana. The series first aired on ABC (part of its Saturday morning block) in 1990. It was Roseanne Barr's first attempt at a cartoon. Plot Loosely based on comedian Roseanne Barr's childhood, the series revolved an young 8-year-old Rosey and her two best friends Tess and Buddy. The three would use their imaginations to overcome the obstacles they faced, such as spelling bees, family vacations, and rules that their parents forced upon them. ''Beetlejuice'' is an animated television series that ran from September 9, 1989, to October 26, 1991, on ABC, and on Fox from September 9, 1991, to December 6, 1991. Loosely based on the 1988 film of the same name, it was developed by the film's director Tim Burton who also served as an executive producer. My Pet Monster is a character that began as a plush doll first produced by American Greetings in 1986. It has horns, blue fur, and a fanged smile, wearing breakaway orange plastic handcuffs. The property was sold to Saban Brands in 2012. Then in 2018, Hasbro acquired the My Pet Monster brand from Saban Brands. Plush The My Pet Monster character began as a plush doll first produced by AM Toys, a subsidiary of American Greetings, in 1986. As one of the few plush dolls marketed to boys at the time, My Pet Monster was popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The doll has blue fur, horns and a fanged smile, and is recognizable by its orange plastic handcuffs. The handcuffs could also be worn by children and came with a breakaway link so that the child could simulate breaking the chain.
