The Bewdley School And Sixth Form Centre
The Bewdley School is a senior school and sixth form in Bewdley, serving north-west Worcestershire, England. Its campus is very close to the River Severn and lies on the border of the Wyre Forest national nature reserve. Bewdley is an educational research partner of the University of Worcester and University of Birmingham and is recognised for its focus on international and cultural education. In 2019, Bewdley hosted the Global Happiness Conference in partnership with the British Council. The Bewdley School has close ties with the nearby Bewdley Rowing Club established in 1877. History The school has its origins in The Bewdley Grammar School on Lax Lane, which closed in the 1800s. The former grammar school is now home to a yoga studio and the Bewdley brewery. Saint Augustine's Catholic High School and Sixth Form is a Catholic High School in Hunt End in the town of Redditch, Worcestershire, England. The school was opened in 1974. Bishop Perowne CE College is a Church of England secondary school with academy status located in Worcester, Worcestershire, England. It is a co-educational school, with a capacity of 1,050 pupils aged between 11 and 16. Ribbesford House is a historic English mansion in Bewdley, Worcestershire. With a history dating back a thousand years, the house is a Grade II* listed building with architectural elements ranging from the 16th to the 19th century. Description The house has 20 bedrooms, 10 reception rooms and nine bathrooms on three storeys. The building has two octagonal turrets. Stanley Baldwin, 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, (3 August 186714 December 1947) was a British Conservative Party politician who dominated the government of the United Kingdom between the world wars, serving as prime minister on three occasions, from May 1923 to January 1924, from November 1924 to June 1929, and from June 1935 to May 1937.
