The Advertising Archives
The Advertising Archives is a picture library and museum with an archive of one million British and American press ads, TV stills, magazine covers, catalogues, greetings cards, posters, illustrations and cultural ephemera dating from 1850 to the present day. It is located in London and is the largest collection of its kind in Europe. The archives are not open to the public. ''John Bull'' is the name of a succession of different periodicals published in the United Kingdom during the period 1820–1960. In its original form, a Sunday newspaper published from 1820 to 1892, ''John Bull'' was a champion of traditionalist conservatism. ''The Saturday Evening Post'' is an American magazine, currently published six times a year. It was issued weekly under this title from 1897 until 1963, then every two weeks until 1969. From the 1920s to the 1960s, it was one of the most widely circulated and influential magazines within the American middle class, with fiction, non-fiction, cartoons and features that reached two million homes every week.
