State Route 277 (SR 277), also known as Airways Boulevard and East Parkway, is a major north-south urban state highway in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. Route description SR 277 begins as a signed secondary highway at an intersection with Lamar Avenue (US 78/ SR 4) and Airways Boulevard in the Orange Mound community and continues north as Airways. It intersects the Memphis Parkway System and turns into East Parkway. Continuing north it crosses under Union Avenue (US 70/ 79/ 64/ SR 23) and picks up the former three routes, where it becomes an unsigned primary highway. Local expressway Sam Cooper Boulevard terminates along SR 277 just south of the state route's northern terminus at North Parkway ( SR 1)/Summer Avenue. The U.S. routes continue east along Summer. Memphis Parkway System
The Memphis Parkway System (locally known as the Parkway System, The Parkways, or simply by their individual names) is a system of parkways that formed the original outer beltway around Memphis, Tennessee. They consist of South Parkway, East Parkway, and North Parkway. Designed by George Kessler, the Parkway System connects Martin Luther King Jr. Riverside Park with Overton Park. The system was put on the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1989. State Route 23 (abbreviated SR 23) is an east–west major arterial urban highway running from Bellevue Boulevard (U.S. Route 51) near downtown Memphis to Interstate 240 near Shelby Farms in Shelby County, Tennessee. Sam Cooper Boulevard
Sam Cooper Boulevard is an urban highway in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The more recent western segment of the road follows a parkway design, while the older eastern portion, which was proposed and constructed as a segment of Interstate 40 (I-40), is built as a freeway, without at-grade intersections and traffic lights. The western terminus of Sam Cooper Boulevard is at East Parkway North.
