Tennessee State Route 200
State Route 200 (SR 200) is a secondary south–north state road located in West Tennessee. Route description SR 200 starts at SR 365 in Henderson in Chester County as Steed Street. It continues into rural Chester County as Mifflin Road where it crosses the South Fork of the Forked Deer River and then passes through unincorporated Mifflin, where it intersects SR 197. After passing through Mifflin it becomes known Garner Town Road and passes into Henderson County. It then passes through unincorporated Garner Town and then becomes known as Life Road before terminating in Lexington at SR 22A. SR 200 is, for the most part, a narrow winding road that runs mainly through farm land and rural residential areas. Henderson is a city in and the county seat of Chester County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 6,309 at the 2010 census, up from 5,670 at the 2000 census. History Henderson was platted in 1857, when the railroad was extended to that point. The city takes its name from Henderson County, Tennessee. Henderson was called Dayton during the Civil War, then was known as Henderson Station and, finally, Henderson. Geography Henderson is located near the center of Chester County at (35.443025, -88.644345), to the west of the South Fork Forked Deer River. Lexington is a city in Henderson County, Tennessee, United States. Lexington is midway between Memphis and Nashville, lying south of Interstate 40, which connects the two cities. The population was 7,956 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Henderson County. Chester County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 17,341. Its county seat is Henderson. The county was created in 1879 and organized in 1882. Chester County is included in the Jackson, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Chester County was the last county formed in Tennessee, created by the General Assembly in 1875 from adjacent parts of neighboring Hardeman, Henderson, McNairy, and Madison counties. This land was used to create a county named Wisdom County, but "Wisdom County" was never organized, and in March 1879 the Assembly repealed this and created Chester County out of the same land. State Route 365 (SR 365) is a secondary north–south state highway located in Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee. Route description SR 365 begins at US 45 and SR 5. It then continues east through downtown Henderson as Main Street for approximately and turns in front of Freed-Hardeman University onto White Avenue and continues for approximately ending between mile markers 7 and 8 of US 45. South Fork Of The Forked Deer River
The South Fork of the Forked Deer River is formed at the confluence of Huggins Creek and Tar Creek in the southern part of Chester County, Tennessee, United States. It flows in a generally northern direction and passes just to the east of Henderson. It then runs in a northwesterly direction and enters Madison County and passes near Pinson. Flowing still generally north it passes through Jackson. It continues across Madison County and enters Crockett County, It flows in a northwest direction through the following counties sometimes passing in and out of a county several times. Haywood County, Lauderdale County and Dyer County where it joins with the North Fork. The Forked Deer then empties into the Obion River which in turn flows into the Mississippi River. State Route 197 (SR 197) is a secondary west–east state road located in West Tennessee. Route description SR 197 starts at US 45 ( SR 5) in Pinson in Madison County. It crosses the South Fork of the Forked Deer River and is called locally Ozier Road and after approximately 2.5 miles passes Pinson Mounds. At 4.0 miles along its length it passes through Five Points and becomes Diamond Grove Road. Diamond Grove Road continues for 3.9 miles and then makes a right turn onto Mifflin Road and in 0.4 of a mile passes the southern terminus of SR 198 before passing into Chester County at the 10.3 mile mark or 2 miles from SR 198. It then terminates in Mifflin at SR 200. Pinson Mounds
The Pinson Mounds comprise a prehistoric Native American complex located in Madison County, Tennessee, in the region that is known as the Eastern Woodlands. The complex, which includes 17 mounds, an earthen geometric enclosure, and numerous habitation areas, was most likely built during the Middle Woodland period (c. 1-500 AD). The complex is the largest group of Middle Woodland mounds in the United States. Sauls' Mound, at , is the second-highest surviving mound in the United States. The Pinson Mounds are now part of Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park, one of two archaeological parks in Tennessee (the other being Old Stone Fort near Manchester).
