Taihang Tunnel
Taihang Tunnel () is the third-longest mountain railway tunnel in northern China, after the New Guanjiao and West Qinling tunnels. It is a double track tunnel that was built to allow the Shijiazhuang–Taiyuan high-speed railway to cross the Taihang Mountains. The left track is long and the right one is long. Construction on the tunnel began on 11 June 2005 and the tunnel was opened on 22 December 2007. Shijiazhuang–Taiyuan High-speed Railway
The Shijiazhuang–Taiyuan high-speed railway, or the Shitai passenger railway () is a high-speed railway operated by China Railway High-speed, running from Shijiazhuang to Taiyuan, respectively the provincial capitals of Hebei and Shanxi, at . The railway opened on April 1, 2009. It now forms part of the Qingdao–Yinchuan corridor. Taihang Mountains
The Taihang Mountains () are a Chinese mountain range running down the eastern edge of the Loess Plateau in Shanxi, Henan and Hebei provinces. The range extends over from north to south and has an average elevation of . The principal peak is Mount Xiaowutai (). The Taihang's eastern peak is Mount Cangyan in Hebei; Baishi Mountain forms its northern tip. The Taihang Mountains were formed during the Jurassic. Brown forest and cinnamon soils are found here. New Guanjiao Tunnel () is a tunnel on the 2nd line of Qinghai–Tibet Railway in Guanjiao Mountain, Qinghai province. It is dual-bored, double-track rail tunnel. The total length of the tunnel is , which makes it the longest railway tunnel in China. China Railway First Survey and Design Institute is responsible for the design. The New Guanjiao Tunnel was designed for two parallel single-track tunnels with speeds of up to . The total construction duration was projected to be 5 years. The West Qinling Tunnel () is in the middle of the Lanzhou–Chongqing railway (), crossing the Qinling. It is a 28236 metre dual-bore railway tunnel in Wudu District, Longnan City, Gansu, north-west China. It is the second longest railway tunnel in China, slightly shorter than the New Guanjiao Tunnel.
