Tyler Edey
Tyler Edey (born February 29, 1980) is a Canadian pocket billiards player. He reached the first place at the 8-Ball Championship. During the 2006 WPA Men's World Nine-ball Championship he survived the group stages, the round of 64 and the round of 32, but was eliminated in the round of 16 by Liu Cheng-chuan. This performance secured him a spot in the 2007 edition of the tournament. Career In the US Open Tyler Edey reached the 13th place in 2004. In 2006, he lost in the Nine-ball World Cup only in the second round against the Taiwanese Liu Cheng-chuan. In 2007 he retired in the preliminary round. Tyler Edey took the first place in the 8-Ball Championship. "I am a better player this year. I've lost so much. I don't want to come in second anymore," said an overjoyed Edey. World Billiards Championship (English Billiards)
The World Billiards Championship is an international cue sports tournament in the discipline of English billiards, organised by World Billiards, a subsidiary of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA). In its various forms, and usually as a single competition, the title is one of the oldest sporting world championships, having been contested (though irregularly) since 1870. From 2012 to 2014 there were separate ''timed'' and ''points'' divisions, with the tournament held in association with the International Billiards and Snooker Federation. Luc Salvas
Luc Salvas (born November 21, 1962) is a Canadian professional pool player. His quick-paced speed pool play has earned him the nickname "Machine Gun". Born in Yamaska, Quebec, in 1962, he won the first International Speed Pool Challenge and the US$50,000 winner-take-all purse by defeating Great Britain's Dave Pearson. He returned the next year to defend his title but was defeated in the semi-finals by Bobby McGrath of the United States, the eventual winner of the tournament. In 2009, Salvas returned to play in the same tournament and won it for the second time, defeating Pearson again in the finals. He successfully defended his title in 2010 by defeating McGrath. The World Cup of Pool is an annual international single-elimination tournament for doubles teams in nine-ball pool competition. The event has been dominated by the Philippines and China, with both nations winning the event on three occasions. History The tournament is held annually, at various locations, and was first held in 2006 in Newport, Wales. The tournament is hosted by Matchroom Pool. Format There are usually 32 participating teams, representing 31 nations (the host nation is represented by two teams, A and B) composed of two players each. The World Pool Masters is an annual international nine-ball tournament. Formerly, it was called the European Pool Masters (until 1995) until players from other parts of the globe were invited. History Throughout much of its history, the tournament has been featuring sixteen world-class pool players, competing in single-elimination format. In 2010, the number of players was doubled to 32. The first round of the event was played in double elimination with the second round in single-elimination. Dennis Orcollo
Dennis Orcollo (born January 28, 1979), is a Filipino professional pool player, nicknamed " RoboCop" and has been called "The Money-Game King" throughout the Philippines and the United States. Early life Orcollo is the second of four brothers. His father was killed in a boating accident caused by a windstorm when he was young. He started practicing pool at 8 years of age through his grandfather's table. Because of financial problems, he gave up school at third grade, and focused on his sport. Career Orcollo began competing outside the Philippines in 2002. That year, he competed in the WPA World Nine-ball Championship where he finished 17th place.
