Osona
Osona () is a comarca situated in Catalonia, Northeast Spain. Its capital is Vic. Its population in 2001 was 129,543. Osona covers roughly the same area as the historic Catalan county of Osona. The name Osona comes from ''Ausetans'', a group of Iberian people who had their capital in ''Ausa'' (today Vic); the Romans called the area ''Ausone'' or ''Ausona''. While most of the ''comarca'' is within the province of Barcelona, the municipalities of Espinelves, Vidrà and Viladrau form part of the province of Girona. Guilleries
The Guilleries Massif (Catalan ''Les Guilleries'') is a mountain system located at the apex of the Catalan Transversal Range and the Pre-Coastal Range. The highest point of the range is Sant Miquel de Solterra or Sant Miquel de les Formigues (1.204 m), other main peaks are Turó del Faig Verd (1,187 m), Rocallarga (1,187 m), Sant Benet (1,149 m), El Far (1,111 m), Sant Gregori (1 ,094 m), Montdois (930 m), L'Agullola (921 m) and Turó del Castell (851 m) The Guilleries is one of the few places in the Catalan Mediterranean System where amphibolite facies conditions are found. The Pantà de Susqueda and Pantà de Sau reservoirs, of great importance for Barcelona metropolitan water supply, are located in the Guilleries area. These mountains were notorious in former times for being a haunt of bandits and highwaymen. Tavertet
Tavertet is a small town located above some cliffs, 900m above sea level, in the area known as Collsacabra, north of the Guilleries, in the ''comarca'' of Osona in Catalonia. Below the cliffs is Pantà de Sau, a reservoir that dammed the waters of the river Ter in the 1960s. Tavertet is nowadays a tourist-oriented town with many holiday homes, where Raimon Panikkar lived. Tavertet is linked by road BV5207 to the town of L'Esquirol L'Esquirol (), known as Santa Maria de Corcó until 4 June 2014, is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Osona in Catalonia, Spain.
