Turkish Formula Three Championship
The Turkish Formula Three Championship is an international Auto racing, motor racing series that takes place primarily in Turkey. It is a junior-level Formula racing, feeder formula that uses small Open wheel car, single seater Formula Three chassis. The races are held in İzmit Körfez Circuit, Kocaeli Province and Pınarbaşı Racing Circuit, İzmir. History The first Formula Three championship in Turkey was held in 1994 following importation of Formula Three#F3 cars, F3 cars end of 1993 sponsored by cooking oil refinery Olin and cigarette brand Marlboro (cigarette), Marlboro. At the first edition drivers Mahir Bayındır, İbrahim Levent, Cem Hakko, Hakan Dinç, Ali Başakıncı, Ertan Nacaroğlu, Mert Dura and Mümtaz Tahincioğlu, the future president of the Turkish Motorsport Federation, took part. An open-wheel single-seater (often known as formula car) is a car with the wheels outside the car's main body, and usually having only one seat. Mümtaz Tahincioğlu
Mümtaz Tahincioğlu (born 1952 in Mardin, Turkey) is a former racing car driver and long-time president of the Turkish Motorsports Federation (TOSFED), FIA Council Member, and served as the secretary general of the sports club Galatasaray S.K. Tahincioğlu lived in England between 1968 and 1989. He won the Turkish Karting Championship three times between 1989 and 1992 prior to racing in the World Karting Championships for Turkey. He competed in the first edition of Turkish Formula Three Championship in 1994. Tahincioglu was president of the Turkish Motorsports Federation (TOSFED) between 1997 and 2012, succeeded by Demir Berberoğlu. G-Force Technologies (formerly Chip Ganassi Racing Ltd.) was an American racing car manufacturer originally formed by Americans Chip Ganassi and Ken Anderson in 1991. Ganassi would leave the company early on and the company was renamed G Force Precision Engineering. The company built successful cars in the Indy Racing League and 24 Hours of Le Mans. G-Force race cars won 4 Indianapolis 500s and 2 IRL Championships. G-Force was purchased by Élan Motorsport Technologies in 2002 and all manufacturing was moved to Elan's facilities in Braselton, GA. Ken Anderson would leave to form Falcon Cars with Michael Kranefuss to build a competing chassis for the 2004 IRL season. Engine displacement is the measure of the cylinder volume swept by all of the pistons of a piston engine, excluding the combustion chambers. Jason Tahincioğlu (; born 29 October 1983 in Bristol, United Kingdom), also known as Jason Tahinci, is a Turkish-British auto racing driver born into a car racing family. Career Tahincioğlu started driving mini kart at the age of six. In 1990, he debuted in kart racing. From 1991 on, he became champion in mini kart racing for four successive years. Tahincioğlu moved up then in 1995 to Promo kart series and became second after his elder sister Raina Tahincioğlu. The next year, he went to the Netherlands to participate at the championships there and became 5th among 24 drivers. Returned to Turkey, Tahincioğlu became champion in Promo series in the years 1997 and 1998. During this time, he participated also at the European Junior championships.
