Turkish Billiards Federation
Turkish Billiards Federation ( tr, Türkiye Bilardo Federasyonu, TBF) is the governing body of the cue sports in Turkey. Founded on December 2, 2006, it is based in Ankara. The Turkish organization is member of the Confédération Européenne de Billard (CEB) and the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB). Since May 2014, the TBF is chaired by Ersan Ercan. The Turkish Billiard Federation organizes cue sports competitions at national, European and World level. The Union Mondiale de Billard ( French for World Union of Billiards) is the world governing body for carom (carambole) billiard games. History The organization was founded in Madrid, Spain on 1 June 1959, and is dedicated to promoting the modern carom billiards games. However, the actual founding of the World Federation took place in 1923 under the name "Union Internationale des Fédérations des Amateurs de Billard" (UIFAB). Confédération Européenne De Billard
The Confédération Européene de Billard (CEB) is the European governing body of carom billiards and is affiliated to the world federation UMB. History The CEB was founding on 12 July 1958 in Geneva. Its predecessor was the Fédération Internationale de Billard (FIB). They and the Union Internationale des Amateurs d'Fédérations de Billiard (UIFAB) competed in 1957 to host the CEB European Three-cushion Championship, and thus two championships were held this year. Three-cushion Billiards
Three-cushion billiards, also called three-cushion carom, is a form of carom billiards. The object of the game is to the off both while contacting the at least three times before contacting the second object ball. A point is scored for each successful carom. In most shots the cue ball hits the object balls one time each, although hitting them any number of times is allowed as long as both are hit. The cue ball may contact the cushions before or after hitting the first object ball. It does not have to contact three different cushions as long as it has been in contact with any cushion at least three times in total. Artistic Billiards
Artistic billiards, sometimes called fantasy billiards or fantaisie classique, is a carom billiards discipline in which players compete at performing 76 preset shots of varying difficulty. Each set shot has a maximum point value assigned for perfect execution, ranging from a four-point maximum for lowest level difficulty shots, and climbing to an 11-point maximum for shots deemed highest in difficulty level. There are a total of 500 points available to a player, representing the combined value of a perfect score on all 76 shots, although not all games are played with the full shot catalogue. The governing body of the sport is the Conf̩d̩ration International de Billard Artistique (CIBA). Each shot in an artistic billiards match is played from a well-defined position (in some venues within a two millimetre tolerance), and each shot must unfold in an established manner.
