TTXGP are the official promoters of FIM eRoadRacing, an electric motorsport race series. Founded by Azhar Hussain MBE in 2008, TTXGP started life as the first zero-carbon, clean-emission race to take place at the Isle of Man TT as teams from around the globe raced electric motorbikes. TTXGP then grew to become a world championship before the company took up the official role as promoters of FIM eRoad Racing when TTXGP and FIM e-Power joined forces in 2013. How TTXGP Started The TTXGP was a new event for the 2009 Isle of Man TT races, promoted by Azhar Hussain, who took the idea forward after a number of different Manx individuals mooted the initial idea. Engineer Peter Hindley and civil servant Brian Hammond had proposed the idea of a zero-carbon TT motorcycle race on the Isle of Man to the IOM government in 2008. FIM ERoad Racing World Cup
The FIM eRoad Racing World Cup was a championship of electric motorcycle road racing, organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and was only held in this form in 2013. It followed the unification of the former TTXGP series with the FIM "e-Power" electric motorcycle racing series. History 2013 World Cup season The 2013 eRoadRacing World Cup was planned to consist of 4 races in Europe and 4 in North America, with a world final in Asia. However, only 6 events (4 in Europe and 2 in North America) did actually take place. The remaining races had to be cancelled because time constraints didn't allow the organizers to find suitable venues. Paul Dobbs
Paul Dobbs (5 October 1970 – 10 June 2010) was a motorcycle road racer and development test rider from New Zealand. He first competed in the Isle of Man TT races in 1999. Racing career Dobbs' motorcycle racing career included a first place in the Australian 400 Class and Formula 3 in New South Wales in 1997. He competed in the 1998 Australian Championships finishing 2nd and 4th in Class. In his first attempt at the TT races in 1999 he was awarded the best newcomer in the Lightweight 400 Race. His best finish was sixth in the 400 cc lightweight division of the 2000 races. Münch (motorcycles)
Münch was a German motorcycle manufacturer which, during the 1960s, produced the ''Mammut'', a four-cylinder motorcycle using an NSU car engine. Hugo Wilson wrote of the founder : Limited production began in 1966. The 'Mammut' name was never used officially as the "Maschinenfabrik Berner & Co" owned the copyright to the name after having used it in the interwar years. Münch's motorcycles were sold as "Münch TT" instead. Early history Friedel Münch began his career as a mechanic and engine tuner in the late 1940s, working especially with Horex motorcycles. The Horex factory noted the success of his home-tuned racers, and offered Münch a job in their competition department. When Horex ceased motorcycle manufacture in 1956, Friedel Münch purchased the remaining stocks of motorcycles and spares, and sold his own race-tuned Horex cafe racers from his workshop in Altenstadt, Germany. Jenny Tinmouth
Jennifer Rosanne Tinmouth (born 8 March 1978) is an English motorcycle racer. She is the current female Isle of Man TT lap record holder, breaking the record during her first ever TT in 2009 and gaining a Guinness World Record for this achievement. She then re-broke her own lap record during her second TT in 2010, with an average lap speed of 119.945 mph, gaining another Guinness World Record. Tinmouth is also the first and only female competing in the British Superbike Championship, for which she received yet another Guinness World Record. Annie Seel
Annie Seel (born 5 September 1968) is a Swedish-born motorcyclist who set a world altitude record for climbing to Mount Everest base camp on a motorcycle. Seel climbed to , breaking the existing unofficial record by more than , using a 20-year-old Honda XL250 fitted with ice tires. This limitation was due to the Nepalese government's ban on the importation of new motorcycles to Nepal. This record has now been broken by another female rider, Tamsin Jones, who with her partner, Craig Bounds, climbed to 5359m in 2011. Infineon Raceway
Sonoma Raceway (originally known as Sears Point Raceway from 1967 to 1980 and 1982 to 2002, Golden State International Raceway in 1981 and Infineon Raceway from 2002 to 2012) is a road course and dragstrip located at Sears Point in the southern Sonoma Mountains of Sonoma County, California. Fédération Internationale De Motocyclisme
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing.
