Trygve Fjetland
Trygve Kornelius Fjetland (6 March 1926 – 28 October 2013) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Jelsa, took his secondary education at Rogaland Country Secondary School and graduated with the siv.øk. degree from the Norwegian School of Economics in 1953. In 1962 he founded the electronics retailer Elektrokjøp, later Elkjøp. He retired as chief executive officer in 1986, but continued in the company board. He resided at Storo in Oslo. In December 2012 he was awarded the King's Medal of Merit. Jelsa, Norway
Jelsa is a village in Suldal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the inner part of the Boknafjorden, near the mouths of the Sandsfjorden and Erfjorden. The village is the site of a school, store, gas station, and some small stores. There was a barrel factory here until it closed in 2009. Jelsa Church is located in this village. The village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Jelsa which existed from 1838 until 1965. Maridalen
Maridalen is a valley situated just north of Oslo, Norway, just above the suburb of Kjelsås. Considering that Maridalen is within the Oslo city limits, Maridalen has a very low population density. The valley consists of forests, lakes and agricultural land. Most of the valley is made up of the lake Maridalsvannet, which serves as the primary source of drinking water for 90% of Oslo's population. The only hydroelectric powerplant within the City of Oslo, Hammeren Hydroelectric Power Station is located at Brekke in Maridalen. The valley is a popular recreational area with many hiking trails and cycling tracks for summer usage, and groomed cross-country trails in winter. Both the lake and valley are protected. The King's Medal of Merit (Norwegian: ''Kongens fortjenstmedalje'') is a Norwegian award. It was instituted in 1908 to reward meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business, and public service. It is divided in two classes: gold and silver. The medal in gold is rewarded for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society. The medal in silver may be awarded for lesser achievements. The medal is suspended from a ribbon in the colours of the Royal Standard of Norway. The medal in gold is ranked eighth in the ranking of Norwegian orders and medals. Siviløkonom (literally "civil economist") is an academic degree issued within the field of business administration. It consists of a 3 year bachelor's degree followed by a two years masters degree and is also a professional title in Norway (with corresponding titles in Denmark and Sweden, see below under "See also"), obtained after the total of 5 years of studies. Storo, Norway
Storo is a neighborhood in the boroughs of Sagene and Nordre Aker in Oslo, Norway. It is located east of Nydalen, south-west of Grefsen and north of Sandaker. In addition to block housing, it hosts the Storo Storsenter shopping center. There are also many car dealerships in the area.
