Triton Knoll
Triton Knoll Wind Farm is an 857 MW round 2 offshore wind farm nearing completion off the coast of Lincolnshire, in the North Sea, England. RWE Npower Renewables were awarded the lease to the development area in 2003. The offshore elements of the wind farm of up to 1200MW power gained planning consent in 2013; RWE reduced the scope of the wind farm to 900MW or under in 2014, to reduce cost per MW. Statkraft became joint owner of the development in early 2015. The onshore and offshore electrical connection assets were given planning permission in September 2016. The Project is now owned by RWE (59%), J-Power (25%) and Kansai Electric Power (16%). Construction of the first turbine was completed in January 2021, and with the installation of substations at each end of an undersea cable, first power was announced on 1 March 2021. Bicker, Lincolnshire
Bicker is a village in the Borough of Boston, Lincolnshire, England. The population of the village was 941 at the 2011 census. It is situated approximately west-south-west from Boston, and on the A52 road. History The medieval estuary, Bicker Haven, which is now a village, took its name from the town of Bicker. It originally formed the outlet of the River Witham which diverted to Boston after a flood in 1014. When the Anglo-Saxon settlers enclosed the marsh for pasture, and the tide no longer reached the haven, it silted-up, whereby Bicker ceased to be a port and became a farming village. This process had already begun with the Donington branch of the haven. The A52 previously ran through the village, but it is now bypassed to the south. Viking Link is a 1,400 MW HVDC submarine power cable under construction between the United Kingdom and Denmark. Current status Land cables and submarine cables are being installed since 2020 and expected to finish in 2023. As of August 2022 Denmark's TSO Energinet expects Viking Link to be commissioned in December 2023. Route The cable will run between Bicker Fen in Lincolnshire, the United Kingdom and Revsing in southern Jutland, Denmark. With a length of of which will pass through Danish, German, Dutch and British waters it would cross the long NorNed submarine power cable.
