Topoli (village), Kharkiv Oblast
Topoli ( uk, Тополі; russian: Тополи, ) is a village in Kupiansk Raion, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine, near the border with Russia. It was captured early in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.See the detailed map. Geography Topoli is south-east of the river Oskil. It is 17 kilometers from Tavilzhanka, 21 kilometers from Dvorichna, 40 kilometers from Kivsharivka and 35 kilometers from Kupiansk. It was part of Dvorichna Raion until that was merged with Kupiansk Raion in 2020. A railway line runs north through the village and across the border to Urazovo in Russia. Since June 24, 2017, there has been a border service point named after the town , which was opened by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov. History The village was founded in 1725. On June 12, 2020, it became part of Dvorichna settlement hromada. Topoli ( uk, Тополі, russian: Тополи, both names meaning ) is a rural-type settlement in Kupiansk Raion, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine. Geography Topoli is on the western, right bank of the Oskil River, adjacent to the Russia–Ukraine border, border with Russia and at the northern end of Dvorichanskyi National Nature Park. On the other side of the Oskil, to the south, there is a much larger village that is also called Topoli (village), Kharkiv Oblast, Topoli. History On June 12, 2020, in accordance with the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 725-p "On the definition of administrative centers and approval of territories of territorial communities of Kharkiv oblast", it became part of Dvorichna settlement hromada. On July 19, 2020, as a result of further administrative-territorial reforms that abolished Dvorichna Raion, the village became part of Kupiansk Raion of Kharkiv Oblast.
