Toomas Vitsut
Toomas Vitsut (born January 1, 1960) is an Estonians, Estonian politician, and as appointed Chairman of the City Council of Tallinn in 2005. He is also the founder of the institutional round table for resolving the ethnic tensions caused by the conflict around controversial Bronze Soldier statue in Tallinn. Vitsut was born in Tallinn and belongs to the Estonian Centre Party. Bronze Soldier The decision of the Estonian government to remove the memorial and the remnants of the 13 Soviet Union, Soviet soldiers to a military cemetery on the outskirts of Tallinn sparked off protest by the Russian-speaking population in Estonia at the end of April 2007. The protests of the defenders of the statue turned into riots with the police during the attempt to dismantle the memorial overnight. The Russian parliament threatened Estonia with trade sanctions and with breaking off diplomatic relations and pro-Putin activists picketed the Estonian embassy in Moscow. Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Nochnoy Dozor (group)
Nochnoy Dozor (russian: Ночной дозор, Night Watch, et, Öine Vahtkond) is a group of mostly Russophone political activists living in Estonia. It was set up in the middle of 2006, with its original declared goal of defending the Bronze Soldier, a monument grave marker in Tallinn, near the Estonian National Library and next to a trolleybus stop, against "defacing, relocation and exhumation". Media savvy The group has made several anti-governmental statements and are said to be supported by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Nochnoy Dozor refers to itself as an anti-fascist organization. The group has made a number of public statements dubbing various Estonian politicians as Nazis and calling for their resignation. These statements are often rapidly taken up by Russian language media channels. Eesti Televisioon (ETV) ( en, Estonian Television) is an Estonian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by Estonian Public Broadcasting. It made its first broadcast on 19 July 1955. The Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA), or Ginnie Mae, is a government-owned corporation of the United States Federal Government within the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
