Tony Eastley is an Australian newspaper journalist and radio and television newsreader and host Journalism career Eastley began his journalism career in the 1970s with ''The Examiner'' newspaper in Launceston, Tasmania before joining the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1979. With ABC-TV he spent stints in Singapore and Hong Kong as a foreign correspondent. After returning to Australia he presented ABC TV's breakfast news. From 2002 to 2003 he was the newsreader of the NSW ABC-TV 7pm news, having taken over from long-standing newsreader Richard Morecroft. He is now the presenter of the local radio news and current affairs programme '' AM''. He is based in Sydney. In January 2014, Eastley resigned from '' AM'' to become senior presenter on ABC News 24. Richard Morecroft
Richard Morecroft (born 20 January 1956) is an English-born Australian radio announcer, TV newsreader and presenter, and conservationist. He presented the Adelaide News bulletin, before becoming the long-running host of the nightly bulletin of ABC News NSW from 1983 until 2002. Between 2010 and 2012, he hosted the quiz show ''Letters and Numbers''. Early life Morecroft was born in Market Harborough in the English Midlands. His father Peter and mother Phyll moved the family to Adelaide in 1966 for the benefit of his brother Andrew's respiratory problems; Peter set up a dentist's practice there. Juanita Phillips (born 11 October 1963 in Brisbane) is an Australian journalist and news presenter. Phillips is currently weeknight presenter of '' ABC News NSW'' in Sydney.
