Tonny Bruins Slot
Tonny Bruins Slot (1 April 1947 – 1 November 2020) was a Dutch association football coach who was well known for his analysis of matches and opponents. Career Tonny Bruins Slot was coach of FC Amsterdam from 1978 to 1980 and assistant-coach of Ajax, also in Amsterdam, from 1982 to 1988. Bruins Slot was the assistant of Aad de Mos at Ajax. In 1985, Bruins Slot was briefly the head coach of AFC Ajax, after Aad de Mos stepped down in May 1985 due to conflicts with the board of administration. Bruins Slot became head coach for the final five matches of the season, winning the Eredivisie title in the 1984–85 season, with players such as Frank Rijkaard, Ronald Koeman, Gerald Vanenburg, John van 't Schip, Marco van Basten, Rob de Wit and John Bosman. From the second half of 1985 until January 1988, Bruins Slot was the assistant of Johan Cruijff at Ajax, winning the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1987. John Bosman
Johannes "John" Jacobus Bosman (born 1 February 1965) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker. A prolific goalscorer for both club and country, he played professionally for 19 years, most notably with Ajax (five seasons) and Anderlecht (five), surpassing the 100-goal mark with both clubs and winning a total of eight major titles combined. 1982–83 KNVB Cup
The 65th edition of the KNVB Cup started on September 4, 1982. The two legs of the final were played on May 10 and 17, 1983: Ajax beat NEC 3–1 on both occasions and won the cup for the ninth time. From the quarter finals onwards, two-legged matches were held. If two teams drew both matches, or if they both won one, extra time was played right after the second match, no matter what the aggregate score was. KNVB Cup
The KNVB Beker (; en, KNVB Cup), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. The 1986–87 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won by Ajax in the final against Lokomotive Leipzig. Alkmaar () is a city and municipality in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland, about 30 km north of Amsterdam. Alkmaar is well known for its traditional cheese market.
