Tommy Stubbs (born 26 February 1990 in Oldham) is an English flyweight boxer. Amateur career Stubbs was a top level amateur who won the Amateur Boxing Association British light-flyweight title, when boxing out of the Northside ABC, for three years in a row between 2008 and 2011. His success in the ring earned him a spot on the England squad for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. However, when he was defeated by Wales' Andrew Selby in the last 16. Oldham is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines and between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale and northeast of Manchester. Orthodox Stance
In combat sports such as boxing, an orthodox stance is one in which the boxer places their left foot farther in front of the right foot, thus having their weaker side closer to the opponent. Because it favors the stronger, dominant side (often the right side; see laterality), the orthodox stance is the most common stance in boxing and MMA. It is mostly used by right-handed boxers. England Boxing, known until 2013 as the Amateur Boxing Association of England, is the governing body of amateur boxing clubs in England. There are separate organisations for Scotland and Wales with boxing in Northern Ireland being organised on an All-Ireland basis. The Association was founded in 1880. In 1881, it organised the first ABA Championships the following year.
