Tomasz Iwański
Tomasz Iwański (born 5 December 1968) is a Polish former professional tennis player. A winner of nine national championships, he is head coach of the Polish Tennis Association and formerly coached top-10 player Nadia Petrova. A native of Łódź, Iwański was runner-up to Wojciech Kowalski at the Polish national championships in 1989, but won four men's doubles championships during his career as well as one mixed doubles title. He was national indoor singles champion in 1991 and a three-time men's doubles indoor champion. Iwański competed for the Poland Davis Cup team between 1989 and 1994. He helped Poland gain promotion to Europe/Africa Zone Group I in 1990, winning two singles rubbers in the final against Norway. Appearing in a total of 10 ties, he won eight singles and four doubles rubbers for his country. Łódź
Łódź, also rendered in English as Lodz, is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. It is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship, and is located approximately south-west of Warsaw. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. Nadia Petrova
Nadezhda Viktorovna "Nadia" Petrova (russian: Надежда Викторовна Петрова ; born 8 June 1982) is a Russian former professional tennis player. A former top-five player in both singles and doubles, she reached a career-high ranking of No. 3 in the world in both disciplines (doing so in doubles on 21 March 2005, then in singles on 15 May 2006). Petrova won a total of 37 titles on the WTA Tour in her career, 13 in singles and 24 in doubles, as well as over $12.4 million in prize money, making her one of the most successful Russian tennis players of all time. Norway Davis Cup Team
The Norway Davis Cup team represents Norway in the Davis Cup competition and is governed by the Norwegian Tennis Association. Norway currently compete in World Group I. They never qualified for the World Group in the old Davis Cup format, though they reached the World Group play-offs in 1995. They have still yet to participate in the new format's Davis Cup Finals. History Before World War II (1928–39) Norway competed in its first Davis Cup in 1928, with Torleif Torkildsen taking Norway's first win, at home in a 1–4 defeat to Hungary. Dick Norman
Dick Norman (born 1 March 1971) is a former professional tennis player from Belgium. He achieved a degree of folk popularity among tennis fans due to his height (6 feet 8 inches), his left-handed power game and, in the last few years of his career, his age (between late 2006 and his retirement in June 2013 he was the oldest player on the ATP Tour). Sergio Cortés Godoy (born 11 January 1968) is a former professional tennis player from Chile. Career Cortés was a leading junior player in South American, winning the continental championships in the 14s, 16s and 18s age groups. He was a quarter-finalist in the 1989 Geneva Open. Cortés competed in just one Grand Slam event, the 1993 US Open, where he reached the third round. Vicente Solves (born 8 February 1969) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. Biography A right-handed player from Valencia, Solves started playing tennis at the age of eight. He was a highly ranked junior in Spain and made the doubles semi-finals with José Luis Aparisi at the Orange Bowl (tennis), Orange Bowl in 1987. Solves partnered with juniors partner Aparisi in his only Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam main draw appearance, at the 1991 French Open, where the pair were eliminated in the first round of the men's doubles, by Cássio Motta and Gustavo Luza.
